"Well, thanks for outing us, Linda." Y/N thought and fought the urge to get up from her seat and strangle the woman with her bare-hands. Y/N didn't know how the rest of the Thrombey's would react but she guessed it wouldn't be positive. Despite the fact her family was 'well-off', as she had lied, she still doubted they'd be happy with their little Jacob doing big-boy stuff like kissing. Oh heaven forbid that. Imagine being 'unclassy'- not that they could really speak of that, Y/N wouldn't let them, not since she knew Richard was totally having an affair.

After Linda's outing, the whole room went silent for a few moments before erupting with questions, all directed straight at Y/N and Jacob. Y/N glanced to look at Jacob who really looked like he'd like to die then and there. Walt gasped and looked at his son, wide eyed and gawping, "Is this true? Son, I always told you to wait until-"

Y/N looked over at Ransom who was the only person in the room who seemed remotely amused, he was chuckling to himself as he watched the chaos unfold. He was clearly happy that the heat had been taken from him and dumped upon someone else. Meg looked over at Y/N, her question standing out from the outburst of questions. "Really? I always told you that you could do better!"

"Were you safe?" - "What does this mean? Are you together or-" - "Do your parents know? They'd be very-"

"Alright, alright. Calm down." Linda called out, bringing everyone back to a silence. She paused and sighed, looking over at the two teenagers who were red as tomatoes, "We'll talk about this later. Jacob, Y/N, we get where this is going. The bathroom's next to Harlan's office, where he had the big fight with Ransom. You heard something. Spill it."

Ransom sighed, rubbing his eyes a little, the attention slowly returning to him again. Y/N looked over at Jacob, who'd sat up a little to speak, still slightly shaken up from the outburst mere moments ago. Jacob cocked his head to the side, gripping his phone, "We just heard two things, 'my will' and then..." He paused again, probably enjoying the whole family dripping off of every one of his words for once, "There was more shouting, but we also heard Ransom say, 'I'm warning you'.

Walt raised his arms up in the air, a triumphant beam spreading across his face. Ransom rolled his eyes and smirked playfully at the two teenagers, "Bet that killed the mood." Y/N smiled sarcastically at him.

The rest of the family ignored Ransom's little side comment and continued to dig deeper for answers to questions that weren't at all important, really. Linda looked at Ransom, hands on hips. "Ransom? What's this mean?" Ransom paused before going back to eating his cookies.

Walt waved his finger at Linda, turning to Ransom and finally unloading what he's been wanting to be able to say for years. "It means dad finally came to his senses and cut this worthless lazy brat out of the will.  And you better sell your little Beamer and you better give your notice at that country club and kick whatever fashion drugs you're on-because if you think after the bridges you've burned, the shit you've said and what you've put this family through for the past ten years that any of us are going to support you,are going to give you- like dad used to say- a single red dime, you're nuts!

Y/N thought that was a little harsh, sure, Ransom could be an ass but he was pretty funny. Maybe they could both work together at the dry-cleaners Y/N worked at. Richard looked at Ransom, "Son?"

Ransom cocked his head up to look at his Dad, mocking, "Father?"

"Is this true?"

"Yes."

Y/N sighed as the family continued their little arguments and point-proving, she looked over at Jacob who was still pretty red after the whole family had just kicked off at him. "You okay?" She asked him, ignoring the arguments in the background the best she could. Jacob nodded a little and looked at her.

"Told you to put that baby album away." He told her, his face was serious and Y/N felt as though he was genuinely mad at her about it. But then, thankfully, he cracked a smile and Y/N felt relieved. He wasn't mad. Y/N could tell that Jacob was dreading talking to the family about it later on, as was she. But she wasn't really related to them so she wouldn't be as affected as he would be. Nevertheless, it would be rather embarrassing for the both of them.

Y/N glanced back over the rest of the family to see Ransom looking at each of them and pointing his finger, "As a matter of fact - Eat shit, how's that? In fact eat shit, eat shit -eat shit - Definitely eat shit. Eat shit."

She chuckled as the whole room just gawped and tried their hardest to counteract Ransom's comments, but none of them were as sharp as he was and so their remarks fell flat. Y/N laughed a little and then looked down at her phone, feeling it buzz in her hands. There was an email. She clicked on it and squinted a little.

"Dear Miss L/N,

Your monthly tuition payment was due this morning at nine o'clock. If your payment of $8000 is not made within two days, you will be, regrettably, excluded.

Thank you for your time, Madame Accord, Head of Finance."

Y/N looked at her phone screen, heart in her throat, eyes wide. Her payments had been made on time, regularly, every single month for the past few months she'd been attending Jacob's school. Why hadn't the anonymous funder made the payment? Maybe it was just late, maybe they just hadn't had a chance to send it off yet?

But...but if they didn't make it then she couldn't go to school with Jacob anymore. How would she explain that to him when she'd convinced him and the whole family that her parents were rich?

Crap.
