Terrible things

Olivia's P.O.V

I just can't figure out why Harry is looking at me like that . Or why he got so angry when I told him to get the tattoo on his shoulder . I shrug off the thought hearing Niall calling my name . "Yes Niall ?" I yell back from upstairs . " We're ready to go love , if you don't wanna come to the studio , we'll drop you home on the way " he yells from downstairs . I hop down the stairs and all of them are looking at me funny . " What ?" I ask confused . " Are you going home looking like that ?" Louis asks smirking , when I realise that I'm still in Zayn clothes . I blush lightly.  " It's okay love , I really don't mind . And besides , my clothes look better on you anyway " Zayn says throwing his arm around my shoulder and leading me outside to the car . We all get in and Louis turns on the radio and Terrible Things by Mayday Parade comes on . I shriek because it's my favourite song and sing along . Zayn sings along with me .
Zayn : Now son,im only telling you this because life can do terrible things you'll learn , one day I'll hope and I'll pray that God shows you differently . She said ...

Olivia : Boy can I tell you a terrible thing
It seems that I'm sick and I've only got weeks

As soon as I'm done singing that part , Zayn grabs me crushing me in a massive hug . He pulls away before saying " I don't like that song! Lou change the song please " he says tapping Louis shoulder and turning his attention back to me . He was just singing along so what could've happened to make him dislike the song ? . " Why don't you like the song all of a sudden Zayn ?"I asked confused . His jaw clenches and his grip on me tightens . He's about to answer when the car stops meaning that we're at my apartment . " Thanks for the ride guys , and I've got work from tomorrow so I'll see you guys soon " I say opening the door , Zayn getting out first because he was next to me . He's about to go back to the car before I grab his hand stopping him from moving . I notice the other boys all poking their heads out the windows but at this point I couldn't care less . "Zayn tell me why you don't like the song ?" I say sternly . He breathes out before finally answering me . "Because ... The way we were singing it, you were the girl that the guy fell in love with . But you were saying that youre sick and you've only got weeks . And that just made me angry . I can't bare the thought of you being hurt and let alone dying . And I don't know what i would do if something was to happ-" I cut him off by wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling him in for a tight hug . I feel his muscles finally relax as I say " I'm not going anywhere Zayn " . He holds me tighter and buries his head in the crook of my neck . " Awwwww " all the boys coo, causing Zayn and I to break apart . He brings his large hands up to my warm cheeks and gently wipes away the tears that I didn't even realise escape my eyes . He kisses my cheek and smiles before saying " See you soon beautiful , don't forget me yeah ?" I smile and I nod . " See you soon beautiful , don't , don't forget us yeah ?" Liam , Louis and Niall tease . " Bye guys " I say laughing . They wait till I've shut the door behind me and drove off . The apartment is pretty quiet which is very surprising . I quietly make my way up to Alexa's room and open the door to reveal her sound asleep . I just happen to remember the day she threw water on me to get me up , and I decide it's time for a little payback . I run back down to the kitchen and fill a jug with warm water and bring it back up to her room . I pour the water around her body and hide the jug before screaming . " ALEXA OH MY GODDD!!!" She wakes up with a shock and panicks . " What the hell Liv? What happened ?" She says still scared . I try to sound genuinely surprised when I say " Lexa I think you peed yourself " . Her eyes widen and she looks down to her bed and realises that her shorts and sports bra are wet as well . "What the hell ? How on earth did this happen " she yells shocked . I can't hold back anymore and just burst out laughing . She looks at me confused before noticing the jug I hid on the floor next to me . Her face goes red as she attempts to grab me , but I move and run out of the room , with her following close behind . We run around for about half an hour before we both collapse onto the floor , laughing hysterically. Once our laughter finally died down , we were both lying on our backs looking at the ceiling." You know Lex ..." I start and she opens her eyes before mumbling a "hmmm". "When Liam came back from your date yesterday , he looked so happy " I said smiling , remembering the innocent and love struck smile on his face . " Really ?" She asked astonished , turning to face me . " Yes really , he hugged me and thanked me for introducing you to him and he told me how lucky he is to have met a girl like you... And not even for a second was he not smiling. He really likes you Lex " I finish turning to her to find her cheeks blood red and her eyes are sparkling . " I really like him too " she whispers hugging her knees to her chest . " By the way Liv... Hows things going with Zayn ?" I feel my cheeks heat up and I tell her about the incident from earlier . As I finish , she grabs me and hugs me tightly . " Liv don't you see !" . " See what ?" I ask looking at her confused . " He totally likes you hun , he wouldn't be that scared of losing you if you were just an ordinary friend . From what you've told me , he seemed terrified , the thought alone scared him half to death . It means you're special to him Liv and you mean alot to him " She says smiling at me like a proud mother on the day of her kid's graduation. " Maybe Lex , but he's Zayn Malik ... Why on earth would he choose me ?" I say turning to look away from her . She stands up and grips my hands , pulling me to my feet . "Because you're Olivia Cooper. Because you're sweet and caring and so beautiful . And because he'd be an idiot not to like you " she says smiling warmly . I hug her thanking my lucky stars that I have her as a best friend . " Thank you Lex " I say sighing contently . " For what ?" She asks pulling away . " Thanks for being my best friend " I say smiling . "Yeah yeah I know , I'm awesome and you'd practically die without me . I love you too . Now can we please go get some Starbucks ?" She asks pouting. I nod and head for the door before she grabs my elbow pulling me back . " You can't go out like that " she says looking at me from head to toe . That's when I realise that I'm still in Zayns clothes . I blush lightly and rush upstairs to change into leggings and a sweater . We leave for Starbucks and spend the rest of the day at a park nearby , before going home and watching movies till we both fall asleep on the couch

Zayns P.O.V

Today has been so boring . Im just unable to concentrate and can't figure out why . I unlock my phone to play a game of candy crush while Harry is recording and smile instantly as I see a picture of Olivia and I in the water at the beach that I put as my screen saver . "What you smiling at mate ?" Liam asks looking over my shoulder and seeing the picture of Olivia and I . He gives me a knowing smile before patting my shoulder and walking away . As soon as Harry is done, Niall yells " Guys work is done for today , how 'bout some McDonalds " . Everyone nods exhausted and we make our way to McDonald's . We get in and all order what we want . " Liv what do you wanna have love ?" I ask turning around to reveal no one . "Zayn , you know she's not here right ?" Niall asks confused . "Yeah it just slipped my mind I guess" I reply faking a smile earning a weird glare from Harry . We all eat and head to our respective rooms. I open my room door , immediately taking off my jeans and shirt , left only in my boxers . I climb in and turn over to the other side , but my heart sinks when i realise that Olivia isn't there . What is happening to me ? Why does it affect me so much whether or not she's with me ? Why do I long so badly to see her smile and hear her beautiful laugh and play with her curly brown hair . I groan frustrated and turn back to my side, grabbing the pillow from the other side and hugging it close . I instantly smile as I realise that it smells like her shampoo . My eyelids feel heavy and I drift off to a peaceful sleep , clutching the pillow tightly
