~Aurora's Pov~

We finally had our first clue that Sophia might be close by, Daryl went out a few days ago and he found her doll. He was shot by Andrea when he was making his way back to camp and he took an arrow to his side. He was okay now but he was resting. On the other hand, Carl was up and walking again, I'm glad he was okay.

Right now, Mom just took a gun away from Carl which he stole from the RV. She walked back towards Shane, Dad and Dale. I was sitting next to Carl at the bench. "How the hell did this happen?" She asked angrily, tucking the gun in her jeans. "Well It's my fault. I let him into the RV. He said he wanted a walkie, that you sent him for one." Dale said. "So on top of everything else, he lied." Mom said and looked over at dad angry. "What's he thinking?" She asked.

"He wants to learn how to shoot. He asked me to teach him. Now it's none of my business but i'm happy to do it. It's your call. I can teach Aurora too." Shane said looking at my parents then over to me. I didn't look at him. I kept looking at the distance, my dad was gonna teach me to shoot. I didn't want Shane, "She already talked to me, I'm teaching her." Dad said looking at Shane, "I'm not comfortable with it." Mom spoke out not wanting us anywhere near guns. Shane sighed looking at her, "Oh don't make me out to be the unreasonable one here. Rick?" She asked looking at my dad, "I know. I have my concerns too, but-"

"There's no but." Mom said, cutting him off before he could say anything else. "He was just shot. He's just back on his feet and he wants a gun?!." Mom said looking at dad. "Better than them being afraid of 'em. There are guns in camp for a reason. They should learn to handle them safely." Dad said looking at her. "I don't want my kids walking around with guns." She responded, "How can you defend that? We can't let them go around without protection." Dad said, fighting her on the topic. "They're as safe as they'll ever be right here." Mom fought back. "Mom." I said standing up. They looked at me as I walked over to them. "You can push this back as long as you want but whether you like it or not we're gonna use guns at some point.. There's no way we can survive without them." i said shaking my head,

Dad, Shane and Dale looked at me as I spoke. "It's either going to be here, safe on a farm where dad can teach us, or out there with Walkers not knowing anything at all." I said shaking my head, "They're growing up Lori. We've got to start treating them more like adults." Dad said, "Then they need to act like one." She said. "Me-?" I asked confused, putting a hand on my chest. "Carl." She spoke back looking at me. "He's not mature enough to handle a gun." She spat back looking at Dad. I took my hand off my chest and looked back at Carl. "I'm not gonna play with it mom." Carl said getting up from the bench and walking over to us. "It's not a toy. I'm sorry I disappointed you. But I wanna look for Sophia. And both of us want to defend our camp. We can't do that without a gun." Carl said looking at her, We were for it but she wasn't.

"Shane's the best instructor I know. I've seen him teach kids younger than Carl." Dad said and waited for her response. She walked over to us and put her hands on our chins. "You will take this seriously. And you will behave responsibly. And if I hear from anyone in this camp that you are not living up to our expectations-"

"They won't let you down." Dad said, cutting her off. She took her hands off our chins. "Yeah." Carl said nodding. Mom looked at me too and I nodded. "Yeah," I repeated.

~Couple days later~

Earlier today, Glenn told us there were walkers in the barn. He thinks they're sick and they can be cured. It was locked up tight but it was still crazy he had a bunch of them in there. "Hey," I looked away from the barn and over to see Oliver. "Hi." I said. "Can i join you?" he asked. I was sitting under a tree, I nodded. "Sure." I said. He sat down next to me and looked at the barn. I looked at the barn too, "My dad talked to us. Told us you guys know about the barn." He said, I nodded a bit. "Yeah, Do you think they're sick too?" I asked. He looked back at me and shook his head, "I don't know what to think." He said looking forward, he rested his head on the tree. "My dad's been telling us they're sick since this started, So i don't know. I've never really seen one up close. Not in a while." He said.

"They're not sick.. I've seen them- rip other people apart.. People I knew." I said looking over to him. He looked at me too, "I'm sorry." He said softly, I nodded not really knowing how to respond to that. I nodded looking forward too, "Have you ever killed one of them?" He asked, "Not yet, have you?" I asked. He shook his head. "No. I feel like if I were to kill one, my dad wouldn't look at me the same way," he said looking over at me. "You're going to have to eventually. It's scary," I said looking back to him too, "I want you to know that these things aren't sick. They aren't people, okay? They can't be saved.. Dale said your family is in there?" I asked. He nodded, "Yeah.." He said softly. "It's not them anymore.. I'm sorry, you said you don't know what to believe.. Believe and trust in what i'm saying. I've been out there with them.." I said. He nodded slightly, still looking at me. "Alright.." He said softly.
