"Ms. Bertz, I'm so sorry for being late! It won't happen again, I promise you." Lia begged. She was late every other day because she didn't have a car, so she needed to walk.
"I'm tired of your excuses Lia, just go to your seat." Ms. Bertz rolled her eyes.
"Ah, but someone's sitting in my seat.." Lia looked over to her desk.
"Wait.." Lia walked closer to the desk. "Are you..-" "Yup! She's the new student!" Chaeryeong smiled.
"No.. She can't be." Lia shuddered. Yeji looked at Lia sharply, scaring the younger girl.
"She's not like, secretly a dude or something, ri-" "Lia! That's enough. Go sit in the back of the class." Ms. Bertz pointed her ruler to the back of the classroom.
Lia walked to the back seat in shame, everyone watching her.
Chaeryeong scooted next to Yeji, whispering in her ear. "I'm sorry she's so weird. She's from.. the other side of town."
"Ahh, okay." Yeji nodded, then turned her head back to Ms. Bertz as she continued her lesson.
