"Cedric stop it" you giggle as your boyfriend nuzzles his nose on your face
"So have you done all your homework"
"Homework's for losers Cedric"
"Y/n"
"Fine I'll go do it, I'll see you tomorrow love" I say as i kiss him goodbye
Cedric and I have been dating for a couple of months, my best friend Draco wasn't too fond of it but he was happy if i was happy
I wake up the next morning and head down to eat breakfast
as I walk in I see Cho and Cedric talking which wasn't unusually but i never trusted her
i sit next to Cedric and begin to eat but he's so consumed by Cho's story he doesn't even notice me
"Hi Cedric" "oh hi I'm sorry i didn't notice you were here"
"Hi Cho" I say to her "uhh hi" she says bitterly
umm eww
"I'm gonna go sit with Draco" " yea sure" Cedric replies again not paying attention
"Hi Draco" "hey y/n, boyfriend not giving you attention again?"
"He does give me attention, just... not when she's around"
Draco sighs "Y/n you know this is going to end badly"
" I know" i sigh
"But i promise, if it happens I'll be here for you ok doll?"
"Thank you draco"

A couple days later

"So the Yule ball is coming up Cedric" I say hoping he'll ask me and for this to not end badly
"Yea um about that, look y/n we had a good relationship but i really think we should end it"
"It's because of Cho isn't it"
"Gosh y/n why can't you just take what i said"
"No I deserve to know"
"Fine yes, yes i like Cho. She makes me happier, im sorry y/n.." he replies
"As long as you're happy Cedric" I get up and hug him then walk away tears filling my eyes
I walk into the common room
"Y/n what's wrong?" Draco asks
"You were right" I say not stopping but going straight to my room

I hear a knock on the door and I get up to open it
"draco-"
"I'm sorry love, can i come in?"
"Yea" I reply weakly
"I got you you're favorites" he shows me a bag full of my favorite foods and treats, he really is a sweetheart
I smile and pat the bed for him to sit on
"You really are the best friend anyone could ask for Draco" I smile laying my head on his shoulder
"Yea... friend" he whispered
then it hits me, he's the one who makes me happy and he makes me laugh he makes me feel confident and intelligent, he finds me interesting and beautiful. It's him.
"Listen y/n, i know this is a bad time but I don't think I can just be your friend. You make me feel a way that no one else does. I want you to be mine y/n"
"Draco-"
" I know you just got dumped and it's shit timing but i have to tell you."
" I feel the same Draco"
" wait really?" Hope filling his eyes
"Yes, im sorry it took me so long to figure it out" I say hugging him " it's you draco, you've been here all along"
"I have love" he says holding me kissing my forehead
"We'll take it slow love, i don't want you to feel rushed" he says playing with my hair still not letting me go
"Draco?" I mumbled into his chest
"yes doll?"
"Will you go to the Yule ball with me? I really wanna go I think it'll be fun" I say giving him my best puppy eyes because i know he hates dances
"Sure darling, but you buy me butter beer next time we're in hogsmeade" he says chuckling
"Deal" i say kissing his cheek
"Ok ok now let's eat your snacks because they're my favorite too" he says opening the bag
