Withered Wings

I see you in flight, such beauty such grace.
With those wings so elegant you pick up the pace.
But I stand here grounded, my wings so withered.
Stuck in my thoughts, it feels like a blizzard.

Oh why do you wish to take this course.
Around my head you go back and fourth.
Sleepless nights and dream filled days.
I sit thinking of all the different ways
to get up to you and live amongst the clouds.
To forget about the others in the massive crowds.

So close yet so far, both a curse and a blessing.
Just land where you are I'll run, i'm not messing
around, and around I'll go on this track.
To get to you and I won't look back.

I'll get closer and closer but when i'm in reach.
Once again you take flight and out of my reach.

With these withered wings I'll stay on the ground
Maybe one day you'll come around.
Till then I'll keep waiting and walking.

To hear your words, that calming sound...
