"Okay guys, don't panic!" Kaze exclaims as you all are sitting in the hotel room together before finals.Yes!! You helped bring your team to freakin nationals and F I N A L S.
"We're not panicking, Kaze senpa--"
"I SAID, 'DON'T PANIC!!"
Seeing the captain so nervous for finals really calmed the rest of the team's nerves as they were trying to just calm her down.
"Ume-chan, get a hold of yourself!" the girls worriedly say.
Watching the entire scene unfold or... get more tangled, you quietly stand up and walk towards her shaking figure. Feeling your aroma, the other girls tense up and immediately move away from you--even your senpais. With your emotionless face that everyone was once so used to seeing, you firmly place a hand on your captain's shoulder. Slowly and with frightened eyes, Kaze looks up.
"F-F/n-chan! I'm sorry. I've forced you to be in our team and acted all tough like we can win, but here I am thinking about the worst scenarios possibl--"
"How can a persistent and pushy captain--like you--be so nervous? Are you scared that you'll fail in front of the entire country on TV and in the gym? We've already made it this far, so why are you thinking like you can't win? What happened to the cocky player you are? You've already won our trust and won me over to play with you. So there's no reason for you to allow your nerves to bite you near the end because it isn't the end! Just because it's called, 'finals' doesn't mean that this is our final match of volleyball. Let's win this tournament and show them our volleyball style, captain!"
All of the girls' eyes widen and realization hits everyone. You guys had practiced like no other team with strong faith in each other's play each point. How could the words, 'finals' mess up your game styles? That's what you lived by; knowing that each game was not going to be your last game made you play the same way you've always had.
Wiping her sweat, Kaze straightens up her posture and nods.
"Well said, F/n-chan! I can't believe I've just been scolded by a little brat like you!" she hysterically laughs, scaring the entire team at the sudden mood change.
You frown at the insult.
"I'm not a brat--"
"Sure you're not!" Kaze swings her arm around your neck--almost causing it to break. "Now, let's go get some late night ice cream! It's on me, guys!"
"Bad idea for a captain to bring up," Hina scolds.
"Yeah, it's like 8:30pm. We should get ready for bed," the other third years scold their silly captain.
"W-wh... Fine! Tomorrow I will treat you all!" she yells again and shakes your body back and forth with hers.
Although you were sure that if you were going to play bad tomorrow, it would be because of Kaze's strong grip on your neck, you couldn't help but feel your entire body feel warm. This was the team you had always wanted. People you could trust and vice versa. Your thoughts lead back to the source of who brought you this warmth.
'After we win nationals, I'll tell him.'

The crowd is filled with cheers and desperate yells as one of them unconsciously holds their breath. The score for the final set was currently 39 to 38. Using their monster-like reflexes, the girls on each side of the court are fighting as if their lives depended on it. Tightly gripping on the railing, Atsumu finally releases his breath. As the ball is badly received by one of the girls on your team, you are forced to run towards it.
