Adriana's POV
One minute I'm discussing revenues with Niko the next my ears are ringing and I'm lying under debris
"Over here!" I faintly hear someone say
Then I feel myself being lifted and carried to safety
I remember bright lights then darkness
I wake up in a hospital room
"Oh you're finally up." the nurse chirps
"Yeah hello. Uhm what's the date?"
"April 12"
"I've been out for 8 days?!" I shout and instantly regret it
"You suffered serious head trauma. No yelling and just relax." I nodded
"But I do have some more bad news."
"What is it?" I asked
"You came out with minor injuries but the baby didn't make it."
The baby?
Was I pregnant?
"There must be a mistake. I wasn't pregnant." I cried
"I wish it were a mistake."
Once I was finally able to compose myself I asked her a question
"Where's my husband?"
"We finally convinced him to leave an hour ago. He was with you the whole time. Your family just went to get food. No one else knows about the baby." she explained
"Thanks, could you pass my phone?" she nods and grabs it
I see a lot of texts from my men. Tons of my businesses all over the world have been attacked. I see a video Niko sent me
It's my family and friends at the meeting. They all decided to go neutral as predicted and Gavin attacks me. I've never felt so enraged. No one stood by me and allowed me to be attacked. My marriage to Tyler means he stands by me no matter what but the son of a bitch didn't.
Gavin killed my baby and they let him
I decide to call Niko
"Adriana?"
"Bring me a change of clothes and pick me up ASAP!" I order trying my best to hold my facade
"Da Boss uvidimsya cherez 10 minut."
Yes boss see you in 10 minutes
"Hey nurse I need a favor."
"Sure thing."
"I need you to prevent my family from entering, I also need a nurse outfit so I can slip out the back. Also don't tell them about the baby."
"Ma'am I can't do that I'll be fired."
"I own this hospital."
"Good one but Aleksandr Volkov owns this hospital." She says
"Adriana Knight previously known as Adriana Volkov check your records love." I winked
She left and came back a few minutes later with scrubs
"Thanks I'll let Alek know not to fire you." she nodded and I went out the back
I saw Niko's car parked out back and I hop in
"I'm glad you're alright."
"Yeah let's get to the safe house and start planning."
