McGee and Torres are just getting out of the car when they discover Gunnery Sergeant Cooper, whose fingerprints Kasie found on the murder weapon, the knife that Ellie found in the bush at the crime scene, outside a store. "Gunnery Sgt. Cooper! NCIS! You're under arrest... Stop! Stop!" McGee yells and runs back to the car while Torres has Gunnery Sergeant Cooper in pursuit. Cooper first runs down the street, then takes a one-way turn. But McGee has already reckoned with this, because that's why the other end of the street is blocked by a car. McGee gets out of the car with his gun in his hand: "Gunny, running away is not gonna get you anywhere. We're arresting you now anyway!" Torres now comes from behind and puts handcuffs on Gunnery Sergeant Cooper. Then McGee and he take Cooper to her car and drive back to NCIS.
