As they finish their journey to bright moon, adora stops at the entrance to tell catra something but hesitates

"Um, catra?"

Catra turns around and realizes what adora's about to ask

She sighs " okay, give it to me"

" we've got matching" adora struggles to lighten the mood. She hands catra a grayish tan cloak with a large hood to cover her face, after they finish putting on their cloaks, they head into town. Killing time before the two were supposed to arrive, adora heads to an awaiting empty bench. Catra proceeds to following adora but stops when she hears the distant cries of a woman. She quickly scans the crowd and sees a man tugging at a helpless woman's purse. She dashes over to them and quickly grabs a hold of the man's wrist.

"Hey, stop that" she demands the thief.

The man let's go of the purse to reveal a sharp set of claw and tears at the tan cloak catra was wearing. As the cloak falls apart and drops to the floor, catra realizes the situation she has put herself in. While all the crowds attention is diverted towards catra, adora retreats to the background, discarding her cloak.

" for the honor of greyskull!"

The crowd turns to the blinding light that transforms into shera. As they all gaze upon sheras mighty figure, she locks eyes with her secret ally

" you're coming with me catra" shera says as she forcefully grabs catras wrist as they march into the castle. The castle doors close behind them as shera turns back into adora who give exaggerated sigh before firmly gripping catras shoulder

" that was so close, what were you thinking!" Adora speaks in a worried but scolding tone

"What was I supposed to do, just let him hurt that lady!"

" no but ... but..." adora couldn't bare to see catra getting hurt more then she already has. She knows that catra has been through a lot and just wants to see her be happy again.

"The trial is beginning, on your feet" a guard enters the room the two were waiting in. With one last sigh, they gather themselves up and head out to the court room. The same room where adora met queen angella, now sitting on the throne is queen glimmer. And standing on the sidelines is boe, who gives adora and catra a reassuring nod, and so does glimmer, who is still in debt to catra for sacrificing herself to rescue glimmer. She rises as the small crowd of representatives silence themselves. Glimmer stands up to give her opening statement.

" we are here to discuss the case of former force captain catra of the horde, if you wish to comment on the case, now is your time to do it"

"She's a criminal!" "She's mentally deranged!" "she's too dangerous to be kept alive!" The representatives shout over each other hurling insults at catra

"Silence! Silence! Jeez, this is came off with a great start" glimmer sarcastically remarks under her breath Before giving her speech

" on the surface, it would seem obvious to deem her guilty, cast her off to beast island, or simply give her the death penalty. But is she really responsible for those casualties? Remember she was under the influence of shadow weaver and hordak. Actually she was the one that defeated them both. She even betrayed horde prime in favor of saving me, queen glimmer. If she really had hate in her heart, why did she save me"

The court case went on for hours before adora had a chance to speak. Finally she got up to the platform

" I can assure you that the soul you see before you is not the same soul that caused those deaths. I knew catra my entire life, and when I saw her pledge her allegiance to the horde I knew something was wrong" adora stops herself to wipe away the tears from her eyes and takes a deep breath, she can't let her emotions get in the way of her speech
" while we were on maras ship, we suddenly got a call from horde primes ship, It was catra." Adora takes another deep breath Before she speaks again in a soft pleading voice
" if she could take it all back she would. She would die for her loved ones" adora takes one last deep breath before speaking in a strong assertive voice
" she proved that when she stayed by my side when I had to save the heart of etheria."

The last speaker to come up on the stage was catra. She had been enduring insult after insult for hours. Her friends were worried about catras temper at this point. Catra steps forward to speak

" what do you expect from a horde soldier" the audience gasps and begins to throw more insults at catra but glimmer interjects

"Silence! Catra continue"

"Like I said, what do you expect from a horde soldier" catra continues
" do you know what we're taught in there? We're taught to follow one single command. Of there's no one there to give you orders, you make your own. It just so happened that those orders were pretty messed up." Catra looks down at the floor
" and when I didn't have any orders I made orders for myself, and those orders were to undo the wrongs in my past, and also" she hesitates, " to be there for adora because I love her"

Adora blushes at this, and when catra sits down, they both stare into each other's eyes until queen glimmer begins to speak again, then they look away from each other in embarrassment. But in that moment, sadness filled their minds

" it feels like every time the topic of romance gets brought up, I always look away with embarrassment. If this is gonna be a thing, then I need to talk to her."

Glimmer clears her throat before giving the representatives an arrogant

" the Public opinion has spoken, and they're in favor of punishing catra for her crimes, the court has also spoken and it is ruled in favor of punishment as well. therefore!!" Tension rises as they await catras punishment, but the answer they got was not expected.

" therefore I sentence you to.......................................................🥰100 days in prison and 100 days of community service🥰

The joyful, cheery, and overly high pitched sentence glimmer put on catras shoulders put a smile on everyone's face except for the representatives who have staged a mini protest in favor of a way harsher punishment

"Silence!" Glimmer puts on a serious face again
"Catra, this doesn't mean I'm letting you off the hook. If you slip up during these two hundred days, I will exiled you from this, court is adjourned"

And with that, the stress of facing the public lifted off of catras shoulders and down came her sentence which was much lighter than she expected

As adora and catra walked down to the chamber. Adora gently grasped catras arm. Catra, with a light blush, gently looks up at adoras face inches away from hers.

" well done catra, you were really brave today" followed by a grin that made catra blush so hard she could barely contain herself
