Chapter 12: Wisteria House

{3rd person POV}

"You're one creepy guy, you know that? You've got quite a girly face for such a ripped body." Zenitsu told the pretty-faced male. Rei looked over at Zenitsu then back to the male. "What the hell are you staring at my face for?" He angrily asked the blondie. "I-I'm not! I'm not looking at your face!" He retorted while hugging Teruko.

"We don't have a problem with your face! It's quite petite, fair-skinned and therefore attractive!", "Say that to my fist! Come at me!" He exclaimed. Rei sighed and tuned out their whole conversation. She looked up to see three birds happily flying around. Yuki, Rei's albino crow. Chuntaro, Zenitsu's sparrow. Tennoji, Tanjiro's black crow.

Fortunately, Yuki had noticed Rei looking up at them so she flew down and landed in front of Rei. She bent down to pet her head. Rei then heard the male that he was going to introduce his name so she tuned into their conversation while also holding her crow.

"Let me tell you my name. It's Hashibira Inosuke! Don't you forget it!" He told Tanjiro. "What characters do you use to spell that?" Tanjiro asked Inosuke. Rei giggled a bit before turning her head towards the two. "Spell? Spell... I don't know how to read or write! That name was written on my loincloth---" He stopped.

All of them blinked at the same time. "What's wrong?" Zenitsu asked. "He froze," Shoichi stated while looking at the frozen male. Rei stood up and walked towards Inosuke and poked his face multiple times. "Hello? Inosuke??" She called out.
"What's the matter?" Tanjiro asked. Suddenly he twitched and his eyes rolled to the back of his head.

{Rei's POV}

Inosuke collapsed with foam foaming in his mouth. "He collapsed! Is he dead?" Zenitsu screeched. I walked towards him and placed my head on where his heart would be. "He's not dead. It's probably a concussion, right?" I asked Tanjiro. He nodded, "Maybe because I headbutted the hell out of him." I sweatdropped.

"Are you okay, Tanjiro?" Teruko asked him while she hugged me. "Yeah." He answered, "Is something wrong Teruko?" I asked her. She shook her head, "Your giant cat was incredible! He kept jumping around and he took us to the sky!" She explained. I smiled at her while patting her head. "That's nice to hear! Bakeneko is a loyal companion." I told her.

After a bit of talking, we decided to take off our haoris and give it to Inosuke. Zenitsu's haori was used as a pillow while Tanjiro used his as a blanket. The boys insisted that I shouldn't take mine off and keep an eye on Inosuke just in case he woke up.

While waiting, I hummed a tune that my mother always sang to me when I was little. Suddenly, Inosuke quietly opened his eyes and opened his mouth to yell but he didn't continue. I was busy humming the tune that I didn't notice that Inosuke had woke up.

He looked at me and listened to it with anime bubbles around him. I finished the tune and turned to him to see his eyes wide open. When he snapped out he yelled and roughly stood up, tossing the haoris around.

Zenitsu flinched. "He's awake!", "Fight me! Fight me!" Inosuke said running towards them but before he could reach them I grabbed his collar and pulled him back. Zenitsu ran behind Teruko and hid behind her back. Inosuke then stopped yelling and looked at what the others were doing while I held Inosuke in place. "What the hell are you guys doing?".

"It's a burial," I answered him while the others continued what they were doing. "You help out, too, Inosuke. There are still people who were killed inside the house." I told him. "What's the point of burying the corpses of people? I'm not doing that! I'm not helping out! Forget that! Fight me!" He told me as he tried to get out of my hold. I placed my hand on my chin to think of some way to have him help out.
