What?!? I've Seen You Before!

What?!? Part 8

Atsushi

Atsushi and the members of the Agency arrive back at the agency to do the job at hand. Everyone from the cafe is meeting with a yellow hair woman who had requested the job. 

"So. You've mentioned that you'd like to request an investigation, but what manner of investigation are we speaking of here?" Tanizaki asked.

Dazai kneeled on one knee and held the client's hand. "Beautiful! You're a lady as evanescent and elegant as a lotus flower. Would you be willing to join in a double suici-" as Dazai was about to ask her to commit suicide with him, Kunikida punches Dazai away from the client and to the wall. Everyone else looks confused at Dazai as Dazai lays on the ground, defeated.

"I apologize for the disturbance. Don't worry. Please disregard what happened. You can continue without me" Kunikida shuts himself and Dazai-san in one of the storage rooms. Loud punching, beating up noises came from the room, scaring everyone.

"Regarding my request..." she continued.

"Y-Yes?" Tanizaki replied. How is she not fazed by what just happened now? What goes on in her life?

"Well, it seems there's recently been a group of unsavory people loitering around my company's building's back alley." She said calmly.

"And by unsavory people, you mean," Tanizaki asks. 

"They appear to be dressed in rags. Some of them have been heard speaking a foreign language." concern appeared in her eyes.

"They must be smugglers or of such." Kunikida walks out of the storage room as Dazai became Deadzai. Kunikida simply closes the door as everyone stares in confusion. "The military police may police all they want, but they keep multiplying like rats on ships. They're inevitable in a port town."

"Right. If we had evidence that they're running afoul of the law, we could ask the military police. So." She looks up at Kunikida.

"You want us to investigate the place and get that evidence. Brat." Kunikida turns his head to Atsushi-kun. Atsushi turns his head to look back, wondering what Kunikida wants out of him. "You will go."

A few seconds went by with no reply. "What?" This is just my first day and I'm already getting a case to do?!

"It's a simple stakeout job. Besides, smugglers are most of the time harmless. They're only good for escaping out of situations. It's the perfect first job for you." 

"But..."

"Tanizaki, go with him."

"I'm going too!" Naomi clings to her brother tightly.

Atsushi Nakajima, right now he's worried about his first job, packing a bag full of things he needs to get evidence. I think that's everything?

"Hey, brat." Atsushi turns to see Kunikida talking to him. "It's not that I lack sympathy for your misfortunate, undeserved life. As such, I'll give you a hint for surviving in this city." Kunikida searches through his notebook, then he pulls out a photo of someone. "Don't run into him. If you do, run."

Atsushi takes the photo to take a closer look. I feel like I've seen him before. "Who is he?" 

"A mafioso. Though we call them that because we know nothing else." Dazai interrupted.

"They're a vicious mob who claims the port as their territory. They're called the Port Mafia. They're the most dangerous gang in the city's underground. Of them, the one in this photo is a very dangerous man beyond even the Agency's reach."
