Riya: Maa, Radha kaisi hai?
(Translation: Mother, how's Radha?)
Mother: Woh bilkul theek hai. Bas tumhe bahut yaad karti hai.
(Translation: She is alright. Just keeps missing you.)
Riya: Usse bolna ki uski behen bhi apni bestie ko bahut yaad karti hai.
(Translation: Do tell her that even her sister misses her bestie.)
Mother: Chalo beti, rakhti hu. Tumhare papa ghar hi aate honge.
(Translation: Ok dear, I'll call you later. Your father will be coming back home.)
Riya: Theek hai ma, bye.
(Translation: Okay mother, bye.)
The call ended for the time being. But still the phone was tightly clutched in her hand as if waiting for somebody else.
And just in a minute or so the phone started ringing and she finally picked up after four rings so as not to look excited.
"Hello," Riya spoke in a tiny voice.
"Hi... how are you?" Atharva, being the awkward person he was, decided to starting with natural greetings.
"I'm fine. How are you?" She asked formally as well.
"I'm great. Umm is it ok if I now ask
you questions like friends to know each other. " His voice full of enthusiasm.
"Yeah, Okay." She said but was much more nervous than before.
"Whose there in your family?" His curiousity was at its peak. But for her, the question she dreaded the most was the one uttered.
"I'll call you later. Got some work." And that's how the phone call ended with a beeping sound at the end.
Her face creased with the emotions creating a hurricane within her.
