"My heart hurts but I know that you will slowly mend it once again."

He had ended the phone yesterday and she was busy thinking all night, how this cheeky boy had suffered. She could easily see that even he hadn't opened up fully yet like her. But her reason for not opening up was sympathy which she didn't need definitely, according to her.

And on the next day morning, she was ready to call him. To bring their calls back on track. From where they had started...

He saw the caller ID and was a bit sceptical about accepting the call but still decided against it and picked it up.

"Hello?" Her voice was not full of the emotions he'd expected. Rather it was normal, the way they used to talk before.

"Hi" his tone held a tight smile.

"How are you?" was her genuine question.

"Better than you." Giving this reply he already felt better.

And her sarcasm was now taking a toll "Are you clinically insane or incredibly annoying?"

"Probably both" was his confused reply though his face had a cheeky smile.

"Okay..." Someone had managed to shut her up for the second time in her life.

"Well, Avinash wants to have a talk with the murderer I'm calling daily once again. He wants to ensure that the murderer is mentally stable..." He received no reply from the other end making him wonder.

"Are you even listening?" He asked her after a minute or so.

"Yes, it just takes me a while to process so much stupidity at once" her response was enough to make him chuckle loudly.

And that's how the next five minutes passed with both of them bantering and talking with each other.
