You knock on the door nervously. Your hands fidget with the homemade care package your family prepared.
"Hello?" A tall, blond boy with terrible posture greets you at the door.
"Hi, I um, I just moved in next door. This is from my family to yours."
"Oh, um, thank you." You pass the gift from your hands to his. He is visibly cold from the air leaking through the door but hesitates to walk back inside. "Your accent... where did you move from?"
"Oh, I'm from the states."
"That's quite a journey!"
"Yeah my dad got a job at a university here."
"Well, welcome to England."
"Thank you," You say as you wrap yourself in your sweatshirt, suddenly self-conscious of your appearance. You part ways and you walk back to your house.
If I had known a cute boy would have opened the door I would have thought twice before putting on an old sweatshirt and leggings!
