CHAPTER 11

Two days later, its the day they were flying to the US for shen wei's brain  surgery with the best neurosurgeons that Yunlan has arranged. Yezun came to see them off at airport. He felt heavy to let go of his gege like that as whole lot of negative thoughts coming in his mind. Yezun  pleaded to Yunlan and said "Please bring back my gege safe and alive, please."and Yunlan assures him that he will. Shen wei hugged Yezun as tight as possible thinking that it may be the last time. They couldn't able to talk anything just tears in their eyes..

Shen wei along with Yunlan boarded their plane to an unknown future.

It was a long 16hrs flight to Los Angeles, and directly they arrived at the hospital to meet the team of 5 doctors whose handling shen Wei's case. After communicating with the doctors, Shen Wei felt better and believed in the doctors although he is still scared inside.

Next day the nurses helped him to change into the attire and Yunlan was standing in the ward looking at him earnestly. Yunlan wants to cry but he has to be strong now. Shen Wei walks up to him and hugs him so tight not knowing if its gonna be the last one.Yunlan locks him into his arms and whispers." I won't let you down, so don't let me down, Wei. Don't forget your Ah lan will be waiting for you right here." He releases shen Wei and cups his face for a slow,gentle kiss on his lips. " I love you.." he adds in tears..

" Ah lan... I love you too" shen Wei could feel tears slowly coming out from his eyes and so does Yunlan's. " You will wait for me right?" he asked again just to be make sure before going inside the operation theater.

" I still haven't done the most important thing in my life yet, so I'll wait" said Yunlan and shen Wei take a last glance at him not able to tell what he meant, but those were the last words he heard from Yunlan before his surgery.

After almost 10hrs since Yunlan been waiting , shen Wei finally being moved out of the OT. Yunlan looks worn out, he hasn't eaten or left the hospital, just waiting for him as he promised his love. He walks up to the head surgeon carrying his life of hopes, hoping to hear what he wanted to.

" Mr Zhao... the operation turns out a little complicated than expected, but we can call it a 70% success. We have removed all the brain lesions that were infected, but recovery is going to take a longer time, 2 to 3 years, depending. The patient may still face difficulties in identify people's faces sometimes but it will get better in time to come. I would suggest you to spend more time with him, let his brain familaries with people he often hangs out with, which will help to progress recovery. We will have to keep him for 3 months to monitor his condition closely. Good luck."

Yunlan let out a deep sigh of relief after hearing from the doctors.. His shen Wei is alive and out of danger  that's all that matter now.  He called Yezun immediately to inform about the situation. Yezun felt happy hearing the news and thanked Yunlan again and again for doing so much for shen Wei.

After the call, Yunlan enters the ward , seeing tubes being inserted all his body, hurts him more than anything . He sits beside him and clasps his hand and kisses on his forehead.

"Everything is okay now.." he mutters near shen Wei's ears, feeling relief to see his face again.
