Chapter Fifteen

"Alright team, do we know the plan?" Robin asked.

We all nodded, including my emoticlones.

"Raven, you should probably wait here. We can handle Rage."

I clenched my jaw. Robin knows me better than anyone. By now he should know I wouldn't back down from this even if I was physically injured.

"I'm going with you." I said forcibly. "Besides, without me the spell won't work."

He must have understood I meant it to be final, for he rose his hands to a defeated gesture.

"I'll watch over her, Robin," I overheard Beast Boy saying.

I smiled slightly as I buckled my seat belt.

"You'll do more than watch, won't ya, BB?" Cyborg teased.

"It's only logical." Knowledge adjusted her glasses. "A beast always protects his mate. It's his natural instinct."

"He's so cute when he blushes!" Happy whispered/yelled as she walked by my open window. Brave punched her in the arm, before taking off in to the sky. The other emoticlones followed suit, and soon they were all gone.

The rest of the team filed into the car. Cyborg at the wheel, of course, Robin in the passenger seat, Starfire behind the driver's side, and Beast Boy in the middle. His cheeks were tinted an odd Brown color, the way he typically looks when he blushes.

Cyborg revved the engine to life. He built up speed down the long driveway towards the ocean.

"Switching to hover mode." He said, trying to hide his excitement.

"Please tell me you've had a test run?" I asked.

"This is the test run!" He licked his lips.

"We're so dead." Beast Boy muttered.

I titled my head to see him better. He closed his eyes tightly. His claws were starting to protrude through his gloves and poke small holes into the leather seats.

Without thought I placed my own hand over his. His eyelids relaxed before he opened them to examine me.

"Umm...Rae?" he asked.

"Don't." I responded.

He accepted this and instead of questioning it, he grasped my hand tighter with a goofy grin on his face. Despite the fact we were rushing toward danger, as usual, I was glad we were going together.

Suddenly the T-Car jerked as the wheels retracted underneath it. I slowly felt it rising off the ground.

"Booyah!" Cyborg shouted. "We have lift off!"
