Haden's P.O.V
"You've got to be kidding me, Klyde." Marahang umawang ang aking bibig sa dismaya nang hindi kayanin ang biglaang anunsyo ng lalaking nakaupo sa gitna naming lahat.
"You're telling me, you want to go back to the academy despite being crowned already?" I scoffed, then laid back with both arms crossed against my chest. "How the fuck are we supposed to hide that for long?!"
"I agree," said Wren. "Amari will soon reign as the queen of Etheris, which will make it harder for all of us to conceal your titles."
"Hindi rin kasi tayo maaaring kumilos basta-basta nalang, dahil hindi pa na'tin alam ang tunay na pakay nila." His eyes rose from the table it was focused at. "That's why I'm afraid doing that would be too big of a risk to take."
Sinundan ng katahimikan ang sinabi ni Wren, ngunit hindi rin lang ito nagtagal nang sa wakas ay nagsalita na si Khair na mukhang kanina pa may pinag-iisipan.
"We all know how the heavens are and what they can do. They like to work in silence, and made it a tradition to always leave us wondering about what they are willing to do next." Khair added, and by the way she spoke, I could tell it wasn't fear that marked her words, but rather her concern.
I took a piece of the chocolate mousse cake served on my plate while waiting for who will dare speak next. And proud to say I wasn't surprised by who it was.
I don't really have the energy to argue tonight. Probably because I wasted most of it from chasing that brown-haired idiot you call a prince.
So, I thought, instead of finding myself an excuse to burn this castle, why not let them make one for me?
"The only thing that could break silence is being loud, Khair." Pagmamatigas ni Klyde, taliwas sa sinabi naming tatlo na nakaupo sa magkakabilang gilid ng lamesa.
"We can't always let them lead themselves to us first." Aniya, dahilan na pansamantala kaming nanahimik upang makinig. "Now that we know what they can do, and what they're capable of, what's there left to stop us from crashing the quietness they maintained for decades?"
Tinukod nya ang kanyang mga siko sa lamesa at ginawa itong sandalan ng kanyang dibdib nang mas lapitan nya kami. Meanwhile I continued savoring the sweet dessert on my plate.
"The more you let them loose, the more they'll abuse the freedom they have and use it to manipulate those who believe in them." His brows slightly furrowed, making it obvious that he wasn't here to fool around with us, especially me.
He really despises me, doesn't he? I smirked.
"Anong ibig mong sabihin, Klyde?" Asked Amari, to whom her attention was captured by the man who spoke.
"The skies had always been serene," He turned his head to face his bride. "Though above everything, even across our realms lies a universe."
