Court was gone earlier in the morning leaving me to go into the kitchen to make breakfast. When I went out, I found Lyell curled up on the couch with a pelt over him.

I went over and pulled a bowl out and poured flour, milk, salt, butter, eggs and then some cocoa powder and mixed it together to make chocolate pancakes. Once I had the batter all made, I put a pan on the stove.

Then I began spooning in the batter and making pancakes. I used all the batter and made about eleven pancakes before it was gone, and I put the pan next to the sink. I rinsed out the bowl before grabbing a wooden plate and going to the kitchen table with a fork.

I grabbed the syrup and a small slice of butter and put them on my pancakes before I began cutting them up and eating them. As I ate them, I heard Lyell stir before he removed the blanket from him and looked around.

He investigated the kitchen where I sat at the table. Lyell stood up and entered the kitchen his eyes shifting to the pancakes as he went over and grabbed one. He put them on a plate before coming over to the table and sitting down.

"Are they brown from the powder Court brought home?" Lyell asked.

"Yeah, they are made with cocoa powder to have a chocolate taste. They're chocolate pancakes." I informed him and Lyell nodded as he poured some syrup on them.

I finished my pancakes before putting the plate in the sink and running water over it. After that I turned back around to where Lyell now faced me. "Before you leave, I have a question." Lyell said and I nodded staring at him.

"Did you take a leather book from my library?" Lyell asked and I watched him.

"Um I believe so, but most of the books were made of leather. Are you missing a specific book?" I asked feeling a bit nervous but doing my best to keep calm on the surface. Lyell already made me nervous I didn't need him to think I was being suspicious.

"No, none of my books are missing. I'm aware that you have them, I was simply curious on what you took." Lyell responded and I nodded.

I felt as if he was trying to bait a reaction out of me, so I simply nodded before going back to the room thankful he didn't stop me. Once in the room I shut the door behind me and sat down on the bed.

Court would be back soon hopefully. With that I sat down on the bed to wait for him to arrive.

Court came back a few hours later and came into the room. I was laying back on the bed reading the diary. So far A had Lyk coming over more often. Nothing interesting had happened yet just Lyk visiting her and giving her food.

It also seemed as if he was trying to court her. Court closed the door behind him as I marked my spot before stuffing the diary back beneath my pillow as I pushed myself up.

Court sighed as he removed his jacket and sat down on the bed. "Are you okay?" I asked and Court looked up at me and nodded.

"Yeah, I'm good. Just a little bit stressed. I have a lot going on with the upcoming full moon. Lot of things to organize for it and having to also deal with my parents." Court sighed as he leaned back on the bed as I scooted over.

"I'm sorry." I murmured and he looked over.

"It's not your fault. Regardless if you were here or not this still would be happening. It's the price to living a double life." Court took in a deep breath. "But it'll all be worth it one day." Court stared up at the ceiling of the cabin.

I didn't ask him on it I simply nodded as I turned over to him. "What are we having for dinner?" I asked and Court smiled.

"I actually brought some things back. And grabbed some food along the way. I brought some seasonings back from the village and got some fish from the lake nearby. I can make it now." Court told me and I smiled.
