Startled*

Noxin found himself frozen when he laid eyes on Duke Carl's expression.

"Reveal everything to me now," Duke Carl calmly demanded. However, Noxin couldn't ignore the coldness emanating from Duke Carl's face.

Swallowed*

He swallowed hard at the sight before him.

After a brief moment of hesitation,

Thud*

Noxin knelt down, placing his hand on the ground. Duke Carl's expression hardened at Noxin's sudden action.

With his head bowed, Noxin spoke,

"End me, my lord!!! I have failed in my duty as Young Master Leon's knight!!!"

Noxin's voice trembled, not out of fear, but due to the overwhelming guilt for falling short of his responsibilities.

Luis strode briskly and scowled at the back, positioning himself quickly on Duke Carl's right side. His gaze darted back and forth between Noxin and his brother before settling on Leon. Purposefully, he ignored Noxin, who knelt nearby.

Duke Carl clenched his lips in frustration.

Leon, stealing a glance at Noxin, observed him kneeling like a guilty party.

'What are you saying, Noxin? Kill you? Are you stupid!'

As Leon entertained that thought, Duke Carl erupted in anger.

"Enough of this nonsense, Noxin! I demand the full story, not this theatrics!"

Duke Carl glared daggers at Noxin, his patience hanging by a thread. If Noxin dared to prolong this act after his stern warning, Duke Carl might not resist the urge to unsheathe his sword and sever Noxin's neck.

"I'll sever your head if you persist in this foolishness... so get to the point and tell me everything now!"

'Wow... my father is truly intimidating.'

Leon mused, closing his eyes. He found himself indifferent to the impending consequences.

'If his head goes rolling, let's find a new knight,' Leon resolved, already passing a death sentence on his loyal knight.

Meanwhile, Duke Carl moved closer to Noxin, awaiting his response in tense silence.

Noxin drew in a deep breath before he began to speak.

"Milord... to be completely honest... this knight is unaware of what transpired."

Duke Carl fixed an unfamiliar gaze upon Noxin, his face creased with wrinkles.

Duchess Julia and Luis, who had been focused on Leon, redirected their attention to Noxin upon hearing his response. Both of their expressions mirrored confusion and furrowed brows.

"What absurdity is he spouting?" "Is he out of his mind? How can he not know?"

Their expressions seemed to convey such incredulous thoughts.

"Noxin... what nonsense are you uttering? I've already made it clear-"

"Milord..."

A sudden halt* occurred as all three of them froze in the moment, their eyes fixed on Noxin's expression.

Noxin continued, "I apologize if I seem rude, but I'm genuinely honest when I say that I do not know."

When they looked at him, there was no trace of deception on Noxin's face. In fact, his expression was genuinely sorrowful.
