Chapter 20 - Back To School

I just woke up. Daniel was laying next to me and he looked so adorable.

"Danny, wake up," I said, shaking him.

"Five more minutes, mommy!" He said, which caused me to laugh.

Mamma's boy.

He opened his eyes. "Oh. Right."

I smiled. He smiled back.

"We better get ready," I said.

"Okay. We can just go to your house and then I'll take a bus back to mine," Daniel said.

I nodded. "Good idea."

"Thanks."

"No problem," I said.

I got out of bed first. Then, I picked up my backpack and walked into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth, and then my hair. Then, I got dressed.

After, I finished getting ready, Daniel got ready.

Then, we walked out of the hotel room, down the stairs, and into the lobby where we checked out of the hotel.

We waited at the bus stop for a little while until the bus finally arrived. I payed the women and she let us on the bus. Daniel and I sat towards the back again.

I fell asleep, leaning on my brothers shoulder.

I woke up to someone shaking me.

"Time to wake up, sleeping beauty," Daniel said.

I smiled at the nickname.

"Thanks, for waking me up, Danny," I said.

"No problem. And by the way, were back at your house," he said.

"Oh okay. Well, I guess this is goodbye for now." I said.

"Goodbye, El, I love you." Daniel said, while hugging me.

I hugged him back. Then, he kissed the top of my head.

"Bye, Daniel. I love you too!" I said, as I put on my backpack and then walked off of the bus.

I walked from the bus stop back to my house.

I opened the front door and walked inside.

I didn't see anyone on the main floor. So, I decided to go upstairs and bring my backpack into my room.

Once I go into my room, I placed my backpack down onto my bed.

"Hey, sis!" Kyle said.

"Hey, big bro! How are you?" I asked.

"I'm great! But, we have to go to school now," he said.

I nodded. "Okay."

I grabbed my school bag and then walked downstairs with Kyle.

He grabbed a quick snack and then we got into his car.

He drove us to Jefferson High School.

At least I can go to school with my brothers.

Yes, we live kind of far away from them, but apparently Kyle's parents don't want him to transfer to a different school, so they did the same with me.

We finally arrived at school.

Kyle parked the car and then we got out.

"Hey, Loser!" Someone shouted.

I turned my attention to the person, and they were looking at me.

"Just ignore them," Kyle said.

I tried my best to ignore them. But, I also tried my best to ignore my brothers back when they would hurt me, but that didn't end up so well. Nothing ever goes my way. I wish I could just forget about my past, and move on. But, it's not that easy.

I just nodded my head and continued walking.

"I'll catch up with you later," Kyle said.

"Okay," I said.

Then, he walked off and I could've sworn I saw him walking away with...Nick?

Is my stepbrother friends with my bully? Would he do that to me?

I think I'm just imagining things.

I walked into the building and went to my locker.

Of course there were sticky notes on my locker saying that I was worthless and pathetic.

Everyone hates me. What can I say?

I put my things in my locker and grabbed my books.

I tried my best to ignore the notes, but as soon as I began walking again, someone bumped into me.

The new girl. Yep, the one that Daniel called hot.

"Oh, I'm so sorry. Hi, I'm Amanda Peters. I'm new here." She said.

"I know, and hi," I said.

"Wow. Rude much?" She asked.

"You know what?" I said.

Think of a comeback.

"What?"

"I could pick you up later and we could go shopping. Maybe I could find something actually cute for you to wear." I said, with a fake smile. Then, I intentionally bumped my shoulder into hers.

"Whatever, geek!" She said.

"Queen Bee!" I shouted, then I walked away, to my first class.
