y/n has always had feelings for her boss aaron hotchner. she never made a move because of his recent split with his highscool sweetheart. at work the tension becomes stronger day by day. what happens when y/n gets kidnapped by a crazy ex?
A few hours passed since you and Hotchner gave each other that first magical kiss. The team was back together and working on finding any information on Jack Will. You couldn't stop glancing over at Hotch and Spencer seemed to notice. "Hey Y/N?" Spencer asked turning his chair over to you. "Yes Spence?" You ask spinning your chair to him as well but just to mock him. Spencer was probably your best friend from the whole team. Yes, you loved everyone (some a little bit more than others ;) ) but Spencer was number one.
You grew close to him when you first joined. You were amazed at how his brain worked. Sure you've met smart people but no one was ever as smart as Dr. Spencer Reid. You would describe your relationship as brother and sister. You were always there for him and he was always there for you. You've both stayed over at each other's homes whenever work was to much. Spencer had nightmares sometimes about horrible things happening to the team and you were always on speed dial when that happened.
The first time it happened he had a dream where everyone was captured by an unsub and he was to late to save everyone. You rushed to his place when you got the call. You didn't care that it was 3 am. You knew that you needed to be there for Spencer. You held him in your arms that night and you both fell asleep in his small leather couch. It wasn't anything more than that so you never made anything out of it. That's really where your friendship took off. You love Spencer but it's never been anything else than a brotherly love.
"What's with you and Hotch?" He ask with his browns furrowed in confusion. You would've never told anyone about Hotch but Spencer was the only exception. You got up from you chair and pulled Spencer by the arm. "Heyy" he whined but you continued until you found the janitors closet and locked the door.
"Okay look sorry I pulled you here Spence but no one can find out about this okay?" You say in a demanding voice. He nodded in response but he still had a look of confusion on his face. "Hotch and I kissed!" you say in excitement. "Hotch?" he asked. He didn't really sound excited like you thought he would. You have hinted Spencer about your crush on Hotch but never told him straight up. He works for the FBI so surely he had to have figured it out. "Yes! We kissed twice and were having dinner tonight!" You say jumping in excitement. "Oh" Spencer said. His face dropped at that very moment.

"Well I'm happy for you y/n" he said giving you a small smile. He scratched the back of his neck and you could tell he became a bit tense. You wanted to ask him what was wrong but honestly Spencer has never been an open book. You usually had to drag things out of him and tonight you just wanted to worry about your dinner with Hotch. "Thanks Spence!" You say going up to him and giving him a small hug. He wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you in even closer.
Little did you know that what was bothering Reid was your newfound relationship with Hotchner. He has never opened up and been so vulnerable to anyone but you. He never felt judge by you because he knew you were to much of a kind soul to judge anyone. He wasn't really much into the dating life but he knew he wanted to date you and now your no longer his. He knew you weren't Hotchner's either but the way he looked at you he knew he wasn't getting you back. He was happy for you because he loved you and he knows not to feel jealous when he never even made a move or hinted at you.
Maybe if he would've said something then things would've been different but they aren't and he has to face it. To him you have never been a sister figure you were so much more than that. "Okay Spence.. let's get packing" you say pulling away from his grip. It was already around 9:50 so it was almost time to leave. You were so excited for this dinner with Hotch that you couldn't stop smiling to yourself all day. "Ok" he whispered and unlocked the door. He rushed out of the room leaving you a bit behind.
You could tell he was off but decided to ask him tomorrow. It wasn't that you didn't care but sometimes it was better to let him cool down a bit before talking. You entered the room a few seconds after Reid. Everyone was already starting to pack up to go home. It was a stressful couple of hours for everyone so I'm sure they were all slumped. You walked over to your spot next to Reid and started cleaning up. You could feel Spencer moving quickly next to you. Next thing you know he was out the door. Everyone else seemed to notice as well.
"What's up with pretty boy?" Derek asked looking back at the door where Spencer walked out of a few seconds ago. "Not sure he seemed fine a few minutes ago" Emily said shrugging. "I'll talk to him tomorrow" you say putting your bag over your shoulder. "He seemed stress so I wouldn't want to interrogate him tonight" you say walking over to put some papers back on a shelf. Everyone was already done packing and gave each other their goodbyes.
You waved bye to everyone and waited for everyone to leave besides Hotch. You pretended like you were organizing papers so they wouldn't find anything suspicious. Finally when everyone was gone you closed the door and turned all of your attention to Hotch. "Hi" you say innocently walking over to your boss. "Hi" he said smiling. You loved seeing his soft side because it was a rare thing. "So I was thinking we can get takeout for dinner? You know nothing to fancy... besides I'm sure that we're both tired to make dinner ourselves" he said letting out a small laugh.
"That sounds great!" You say giving him a smile back. "Okay so do you want me to drive you to my place or would you like to drive yourself?" He asked placing papers in a folder. "I'll drive there besides maybe I can change before I get there" you said. His cheeks turned a shade of red. It was the cutest thing ever. You giggled and admired how flustered he looked. He finished up with the papers and you both walked out the building and headed inside your own cars.
You decided you wanted to dress up a bit before heading over to Hotchner's place. It wasn't an official date but in your head it was. You headed home and did a quick outfit change. You changed and reapplied some makeup. You didn't want to go full out so you decided on a casual cute outfit. You went for a sweater and a pair of trousers.

You applied a bit of perfume and grabbed your bag out the way. While you were getting ready Hotchner was setting up the dining table. He lit up a few candles to set to mood and ordered takeout for the both of you. He also changed since you had mentioned you would change. He knew no matter what you showed up in that you would look stunning. He wore a casual nice white button up shirt and a pair of black slacks. He didn't want to overdress considering he didn't make it an official date. He was grabbing utensils when he heard a ring at the door.
You stood outside Hotch's house and rang the door. It was a beautiful house. You stood there for a bit before Hotch swung the door open. He also had an outfit change and he looked so handsome. "Come in!" He said grabbing your hand and leading you into his cozy home. You took your bag off your shoulder and Hotch took it away from you and placed it on the couch. The house was dim and he had a record playing softly in the background. He has a nice candle lit table waiting for you.
