"We're here." Beau said shaking me awake

"We are?" I asked blinking once then twice

"Yes A. Wake up now." Beau nodded

I stretched like a cat yawning then I frowned, remembering that Amala is supposed to be sitting beside me

"Where is Am?" I asked

"I'm out here, sis. Done stretching like a cat?" Amala said teasingly

"Yes, let's go." I said getting out of the car

I met up with Amala, Beau and Steve. A guy came up to us, Beau tossed him the car keys and he left to park the car.

We went in the grand mansion that was in front of us. I went and plopped myself on the couch and flipped through the channels to find something to watch.

Amala sat beside me, all tense and stiff. Beau and Steve went on with their work. A guy came and placed a tray of food on the coffee table in front of us.

I picked up a plate of pancakes and bacon and dug in. Amala followed my lead. Once, we were done, someone took away our plates.

"Well, look who's here." I heard an extremely familiar voice

I got up from my place and pounced at the guy behind me. He caught me and spun me around before setting me back on my feet and hugging me. He layed a kiss on my forehead and smiled at me as he pulled away.

  "Papa." I smiled

"You look good." Dad said

  "I always do." I retorted

"That's my favourite daughter." Dad chuckled

"I'm your only daughter, unless there's some other daughters I need to know about and take care of." I said pointedly

"No, you're the only one. Who's this friend of yours?" Dad said referring to Amala

I gestured Amala to join me by my side. Amala stood beside me with her head down.

"We hold our heads high here." Dad said to no one in particular

Amala got the hint and looked up. I smiled. Maybe, there's still hope for her.

"Amala, this is my Dad, Anubis. Dad, this is Amala, my half-sister." I introduced

"Half-sister?"

  "Anubis?"

Dad and Amala asked at the same time. I have a feeling these two would get along just fine.

"Yes, my Dad is named after the Egyptian God of Death." I snickered

"Cute." Amala said smiling

"What do you mean half-sister?" Dad interjected

"Mom gave birth to her as well." I shrugged

"Rachel, how is she doing now?" Dad asked, adoration filing his voice.

"Well, if you call being man-handled by dad all the time, fine. Then, she's pretty good." Amala said with a sarcastic smile

"Leave it be Papa. Even if you rescue her, she won't come with you. She'll go back to those sorry excuse of family of hers who will marry her off to another tyrant." I said sympathetically

My dad did marry someone after losing mom but it didn't work out. They kept trying for a baby, only to find out later that his wife had gotten fixed long ago. When he told her to get it undone, she said no. He later found out she was cheating on him.
