The following morning Calliope woke quite early. She had no wish to have breakfast at the orphanage. She wouldn't even mind if it meant that she would be at the leaky cauldron until Draco arrived.
Just like the previous year, Calliope had no difficulty in reaching th dingy little pub and though it was a little before nine it was fairly full. It wasn't the first time that she was thankful that the public didn't know what she looked like. She didn't even want to think about what it would've like if they all knew who she was.
Not wanting to linger on those thoughts, she went up to the counter.
"Good morning Mr. Tom." Calliope had to practically shout to be heard above the noise in the pub.
"Good morning little Miss, how can I help you?" The old barman asked, leaning slightly forward over the counter to see calliope better.
"I would like to have some breakfast while I wait for a friend to arrive, if that isn't too much trouble of course."
"Of course miss, no problem at all. Pick a table, they all should have menus on them. Don't forget to choose what you want, touch the item and I will be able to sort it for you."
"Thank you, Sir." Calliope responded with the biggest smile she could manage.
She settled on a little table away from the racket, selected her breakfast and waited for Draco to arrive.
Around an hour later, the fireplace across the room it up and out stepped a blonde boy who was slightly taller than Calliope. As soon as he stepped out, he scanned the pub, locked eyes with Calliope and a smile appeared on his face as he found her. He paid no attention to any of the other beings who were around and he headed straight for Callie. Callie only had a few seconds to register what was about to happen and the next moment, she had the blondes arms around her.
"Callie, I missed you." Dracos voice was a little louder than a whisper and Calliope giggled to herself slightly, 'one would believe he hasn't seen me in years,' she thought fondly.
"Hello Draco." Callie responded with her angelic voice, it seemed she was rather fond of her snakes.
Only a few moments after Draco arrive, the fireplace lit up again and a man that could only be draco's father stepped out. His cold eyes scanned the pub until he spotted his son with his arms wrapped around some girl, who he assumed to be Miss Potter. He couldn't be completely sure since the girl had her back towards him and even if she didn't, Lucius would have trouble identifying the young girl anyway, considering he had never seen her.
He approached the two and cleared his throat, gaining th attention of the children stood in front of him. Draco let goof the girl but the happiness was written across his face for all to see. The girl turned around and Lucius had to control himself so that his shock wouldn't be seen by anyone.
The child was truly beautiful, there was no other word that could be used to describe her and Lucius could definitely identify a few Malfoy traces in her, however it was clear that she was from the Potter family. What truly surprised him were the girls eyes. He had seen 'Avada Kedavra' used hundreds of time but never before had he found the colour to be mesmerising. The innocent smile on her face didn't match the colour of the girls eyes, after all, she seemed so innocent, how could that colour be her.
"Father, this is my friend, Calliope Potter." Draco said, bringing Lucius attention back to his son, it was impossible to miss the pride in his sons voice as he spoke, "Calliope, this is my father, Lucius Malfoy."
"It is a pleasure to meet you Mr. Malfoy, and thank your for allowing me to spend the holidays at your home, please call me Callie."
He almost smiled, the girl even had an innocent voice. He couldn't help but wonder why she had been sorted into Slytherin.
