16. Selfish

Rudra woke up, startled and breathing heavily. He looked around and found himself in his hospital room.
Just then, the door opened and Rishi entered into the room....

"Rudra...what happened, are you OK, should I call the doctor "

Rudra looked up and raised his hand towards Rishi...
Rishi held Rudra's hand and patted his back....
Rudra was trying to breathe evenly...

"I had a bad dream "

"about what "
asked Rishi...

"A Car accident..... "

Rudra replied with shaking Voice...

Richa entered the room with a water bottle in her hands, she saw Rudra panting heavily and Rishi rubbing his back to help him breathing...

"What happened  ??"
Richa asked them..

"He had a bad dream about his accident "
Rishi told Richa...

"You remember the accident "
Richa asked Rudra...

"I don't think its the recent accident,  because I saw a woman in the passenger seat of the Car "
Rudra said closing his eyes....

Rishi and Richa looked at each other..

"Who was the woman  ??"
Richa asked...

"Maybe you, I m not sure, I didn't see her face, everything was fuzzy "
Rudra replied, his eyes still closed.

"Do you remember something else "
asked Richa in a hopeful voice....

"No, I don't, my head is killing me "
Rudra said holding his head in his hands
Rishi looked at Richa and shook his head to stop her from asking anything else to Rudra. He raised his hand to hold the bottle in Richa's hands and pass it to Rudra.
He took few gulps and returned the bottle.
A nurse entered the room and saw Rudra holding his head painfully
She came forward and pressed the button to call the doctor.

Rishi was driving the car, Rudra and Richa were sitting on the back seat.
Rishi was remembering what doctor has told him about Rudra...

"His condition is still not good, you guys have to be so careful with him, any stress will make his condition worse than now "

Rishi was disturbed, he doesn't want to stay away from Richa anymore but he didn't want to take any risk about Rudra's health too.

Richa was stairing outside the window, she was thinking about her twisted life right now

When I was praying for Rudra to wake up, everyday.
I never thought that when this day will arrive, I will be this confused and disturbed.
My heart knows that Rishi is my Rudra,  but I can't abandon HIM  not now, when he doesn't remember anything about his life.

Why everything becomes so difficult in my life.
Why can't I have any peace of mind in my life
Why can't I stay happy, WHY.....???!!!!!!!!

Rudra was lost in his thoughts too, he doesn't remember anything, only few flashes of a woman, laughing happily, and bright lights, loud honks then a BOOOOOM.....

Why I can't remember anything....
I remember the accident but not clearly
I remember a flash of a woman, but her face is fuzzy
And....
I can't even remember my own name
Rishi seems to be my closest friend but I don't remember him at all
I don't remember my parents, my family....
How can I forget them, Family is the most important thing in anyone's life.
