|| message to: firefly AKA neighbor girl ||i didn't know you were that talented
I'm not.
you're kidding right?
ive never something that beautiful before
i could never
It's not hard. It just takes practice.
Think of it like playing the guitar.
I just happen to have a lot of time on my hands.
yeah i was meaning to ask you about that
I guess it's time for the days story.
you don't have to, im sure it gets tiring having to relive what you're going through
i couldn't imagine
It's ok.
There's two "types" to what I have and the first type you're able to have seizures but I have the second type and I've still had seizures with it before.
that must be horrible...
Its worse if Im standing up but half of the time I'm able to sense them coming so I can lower myself to the ground before they hit.
what is someone suppose to do if you start seizing
If I'm already on the floor then you support my head and make sure there aren't any hard or sharp objects nearby and you have to make sure me or the person is on their side so they can't choke or anything. It's also helpful to time the seizure cause if it lasts over five minutes then that's usually when you call 911.
You never want to hold them down or put something in their mouth and you never want to offer them water until their conscious enough to sit up and talk.
that's intense
and scary
what if you have one when no ones around
That's just more of a risk factor I guess.
i don't know how you do it
Well I was diagnosed when I was five so I guess it just comes with time to know how to deal with it.
yeah true
what about your eyes
Oh, that's nothing harmful...I don't really like it but there's nothing I can do about it. I use to get bullied a lot because of that.
really?!
i think it's unique and really pretty actually
Oh, I don't know about that...
i do
ive never seen someone with two different colored eyes before
It's called, or the one I have is called Congenital Heterochromia.
Some of the doctors we've talked to think it developed because of my illness but a few family members on my moms side had it so I guess there was a good chance I'd get it too.
is there anything else that could make you more special
in a good way of course
Well I have an iron deficiency and that's a real pain in the ass cause I hate getting dizzy.
you are definitely one of a kind
Now it's your turn, neighbor boy. Share something about yourself.
He ponders on the thought for a moment.
im mute by choice because of an accident I got in with my parents
What happened to them?
they died
Oh...Jasper I'm so sorry.
yeah the driver was high on cocaine, crossed straight through the intersection at 60 miles an hour to the front side of the car
that's what I've been told anyways because I blacked out
the doctors said I was lucky that I did
That's terrible...Have you talked to anyone about it?
they tried to get me to
i was given a therapist or whatever they're called and I slowly just stopped talking
you're the closest I've come to talking about it since the day it happened
Willa's eyes sting. She can't imagine losing her mom let alone both her parents.
You can tell me anything, you know. I'm not thatttt bad of a person.
oh I know firefly
you're quite the character
🥀
