December 4 1971

Hemlock Neith Argent

It was already December and I felt like something is missing, someone. James and I are slowly drifting apart though I kept on holding on but I think he doesn't even care about it. I'm being carried away by the sea of negative thoughts.

"Hem, are you going home during the holidays?" Ash asked. I'm now an honorary Ravenclaw and they don't mind that I'm always with them though I spend my breakfast with Lily and the girls (Peter and Remus are somewhat considered as girls).

"Yeah." I replied feeling bummed out. We ate our breakfast and didn't even noticed James seat in front of us.

"Uh and you are?" Ash sarcastically asked him after a few minutes of dismissing his presence.

"Not in the mood Lafayette." He snapped and then looked at me with curious eyes. "So Strings, you're a a girl, right?" He asked while I cocked my left eyebrow at him.

"Good to know your glasses work." I muttered, offended.

"So what do girls like as gifts?" He asked and turned around to watch Lily Evans walk to the Gryffindor Table to her friends.

"For me, I'd have butterfly knives or brass knuckles." I said not battling an eyelash.

"Geesh forgot you're different." He breathed and smiled innocently at Ash. "How about you?"

"Oh for me I'd like acotinum blue monkshood and a plot full of vervain." She said, apparently Ash likes to experiment on flowers (deadly flowers) and come up with something new or something that will blow up in your face.

"So flowers then?" James asked. "What kind?"

"Try ivy." Ash said, grinning wickedly. The first start of the term, she and Lily clashed and least to say that I slept in the Ravenclaw dormitories for a week, not wanting to feel Lily's wrath.

"Is it at least a pretty one?" He asked making Ash nod her head fast while I mouthed "No it isn't." He looked between me and Ash, not sure who to believe.

"Seriously." He demanded.

"James, Ivy is pretty but can cause rashed and itches." I said and gave Ash a playful glare. "Try roses, not red or white but try pink. And no don't get Lily a lily." I said knowing how his brain works.

"Thanks Strings. I know I can count on you." He said and left without looking back.

Ashly Monique Lafayette

I'm disappointed at my best friend, loving a guy so close and yet so far. And the said guy fancies the very girl that makes my blood boil, Lilian Evans.
