He never paused but continued with the uncompromising disciplinary action.

She lost count in her mind as she became a blubbering mess, holding onto the bedpost as if for dear life. If this kind of brutal discipline was what she got even after apologizing, then she was indeed in trouble. She was in really big trouble.

She was aware of the punishment ending as he gave her one last excruciating lash that had her body shaking with her sobs. She was aware of him immediately crowding her trembling body from behind.

"Have you learned your lesson?"

"Yes." She wept.

"You can let go of the post." He told her and she obeyed. Her legs immediately gave way and she started to crumble but he held her up, steadying her with one hand. With the other hand that still held the belt, he turned her to face him and enveloped her closely in a hug while she wept into his chest. He kept holding her until her crying started to reduce. Then he broke the hug.

"Tomorrow, there'll be a family dinner to welcome you into the family. It is a standard tradition. Then our honeymoon can come in. Be on your best behavior during the dinner. Do you understand me?"

"Yes, Michael." She sniffled and tried to picture a bright future even in her pain because she liked to be happy. She saw only glaring images of pain and pleasure with him. She guessed it was the curse she had to bear for playing that stupid game and hurting her best friend.
