minho sat staring into space, his vision blurry of the rain filled road behind the windshield of hyunjin's car. hyunjin sat on the driver's seat, glancing at minho and sighing. the car was parked beside the side walk and he looked at minho for a signal to drive, the older just barely nodded his head and hyunjin started to drive, not knowing where to go yet but he hesitated on asking minho where his apartment was.

a heavy silence fell onto the both of them, the only sound was the rain faintly tapping on the car surface. hyunjin's hands were shaking as it gripped onto the wheel, forcing back a breath feeling anxiety kick in. the atmosphere wasn't even helping and he didn't want to push minho to tell him anything.

minho was able to give hyunjin mumbled directions towards his apartment building. there was an awkward silence between them again, but it felt like it was only hyunjin that feels it. he glanced at minho who was still staring into space, his eyes glassy as if he was about to cry again.
❝ minho? ❞
he asked, breaking the silence and the older flinched at the call of his name.

❝ you're.... ❞
minho started with a weak and fragile voice, he blinked a few times trying to hold back his tears.
❝ you're not married? ❞
minho asked, looking at hyunjin who's eyes widened a little, it didn't come to mind that minho wouldn't know, but he chose to not address it anyway because it would only cause another wall to build in between them.

❝ so that's why..... ❞
minho turned his gaze away, clenching his jaw and letting out a heavy breath.
that's why the only ring he wore was that promise ring.

❝ minho i.... i thought.... i thought you knew— ❞

❝ of course i didn't. ❞
minho cut him off a bit too harshly that it took hyunjin back, he saw a small hint of anger in minho's eyes, the first time he's seen it and his voice was bitter.

❝ everyone hid it from me, they played me for a fool, if felix hadn't told me will i still be clueless of this until the day i die? exactly how much of my life do you people want to control huh? how much more of my decisions won't make it? how much more will all of you decide what's good for me? ❞
minho ranted, hyunjin couldn't say anything, he felt ashamed, that he couldn't bring himself to even look at minho's eyes.
❝ you got into an accident.... ❞
minho's head lowered, staring at his balled fists rested on his lap.
❝ they knew if i found out, i wouldn't have left, i would have came back for you. ❞

❝ and you know what's funny hyunjin? ❞
minho let out a bitter huff of laugh, his tears falling and fists clenched even tighter that his fingernails dug into his palms.
❝ i really would have came back for you. ❞
he sighed and took in a shaking breath, resenting himself and everything, everyone, not even hyunjin who listened and stared at him with a heavy heart.

minho let out muffled sobs full of shame and he covered his face trying to suppress his tears. hyunjin snapped out of his deep train of thoughts and gently removed minho's hands from his face. the older slowly looked at him, eyes full of tears and chest heaving slowly. hyunjin tucked minho's hair behind his ear, fixing it as it was sprawled across his forehead messily after he had covered his face.

hyunjin stared at him, the feelings inside were still the same as he stared at minho lovingly, still seeing him as the most beautiful he'd seen even if he was a mess. without hesitation he leaned forward, pressing his lips against minho's which his own hadn't touched for a long time.

minho closed his eyes, missing this feeling and he felt alive after three years of living in agony, in loneliness, because he knew it was only hyunjin he needed. on that shared kiss, that shared moment, it brought them to the time when they were in love, when they didn't care about the world and it was only being with each other that mattered.

hyunjin pulled apart, his eyes locked with minho's that was now sparkling as if pain resided for a while.
❝ i missed you. ❞
hyunjin whispered, a faint smile making it's way on his lips. a small, frail, yet sincere smile could only be expressed by minho who held the younger's cheek after the said words.
❝ i missed you too. ❞

hyunjin let minho hold his hand till they reach the floor of his apartment, minho turned around after he stepped into the door, still not wanting to let go of hyunjin's hand.
❝ hey, you wanna come in? ❞

minho asked and hyunjin nodded his head, walking into the apartment still holding minho's hand.

hyunjin sat on the couch while minho prepared some hot chocolate from the kitchen. minho walked towards him a few minutes later holding two mugs of hot chocolate and marshmallows sitting on top of the still steamy drink. he offered one to hyunjin and the younger took it with a thankful smile.

hyunjin blew and drank on the hot chocolate while minho sat a good distance beside him, holding his mug that rested on his lap. he watched as hyunjin's eyes lit up at the sweet drink making him let out a small chuckle.
❝ my favorite chocolate from paris. ❞
minho said and hyunjin finished it off.
❝ it's really good. ❞
he smiled making minho nod his head.

❝ hyunjae hyung and i broke up. ❞
minho said, gripping onto the mug tighter and felt the heat scorching his palms from the surface.
❝ it's kinda sad. ❞
minho laughed bitterly while hyunjin stared at him, minho fixed his hair a bit, sniffing and blinking to prevent his tears from falling again. he looked around with pursed lips and sighed.
❝ we just got together not too long ago, but we broke up already, how sad. ❞
minho wiped the tears on his cheek while forcing a small laugh, placing the mug down the coffee table.

hyunjin was deep in his own thoughts, he would've felt happy after hearing that, but he wasn't, because he saw minho hurting. he remembered how much pain he felt the day they parted, and he understands what minho was going through now that he just felt empathetic towards the older who had his heart broken right now.

❝ but he's a good guy, this is better for us anyway, i really need to get my shit together. ❞
minho ran his hands down his face and slumped back on the sofa, hyunjin looked at him and huffed a small laugh, slumping back onto the sofa beside minho.
❝ you want me to stay for the night? ❞
hyunjin asked softly and he could hear minho sighing.
❝ i'd like that. ❞

i was scrolling through twt and saw a post saying there's a rumored special stage with hyunjin collaborating with iz*one's wonyoung (bae) and the boyz hyunjae and i literally choked.

i kinda want to see hyunho and jujae together now.
