❝ do you want a cupcake? or a cookie? ❞
minho offered, taking out the sweets he baked that morning. hyunjin smiled and nodded his head and minho rummaged through the small paperbag. the sun was now setting and they were almost to the town, on their way down the mountain and hyunjin's eyes lit up as he sighted the beach in the distance.

minho opened up a small paperboard box and gave hyunjin the cupcake, the younger smirked.
❝ i'm driving, you'll have to feed me. ❞
he said smugly and minho resisted the urge to punch him, he huffed and pulled down the cupcake liner, almost shoving the cupcake into hyunjin's mouth after. a laugh just came out the younger as he chewed the sweet treat and licked the icing off his lips.

❝ i love it, you always seem to get the recipe right. by the way, felix opened up a bakery a year ago and seungmin mentioned he asked if you could come visit him sometimes after hearing you got back. ❞
minho's face lit up into a happy grin, he folded the used cupcake liner back to its box to throw for later.
❝ i'll keep that in mind, i missed him. ❞
he said making hyunjin smile.

night fell upon the small town as they arrived, they had a good twenty more minutes before reaching the venue but they were both already silently hungry until minho's stomach started to growl and he clutched it, glaring that it caused him more embarrassment and hyunjin couldn't help but laugh.

❝ why don't we stop to eat dinner? i'm also hungry and i need to fix myself up too. ❞
hyunjin offered and minho nodded his head, still blushing embarrassed.
❝ yeah you look like a hot mess. ❞
minho said with a smile resulting another laugh from hyunjin.
❝ at least hot. ❞ (naol hot)
hyunjin smirked and minho just rolled his eyes.

just when things couldn't get any more awkward, the only place they could eat nearby was at the restaurant by the beach, the place they had their first official date. minho felt his stomach go queesy and he hugged himself, feeling empty and shuddering at the cold wind. his train of thoughts were cut off when he felt hyunjin drape his coat over him who wore only a t shirt, the summer breeze now passing by them. minho turned around at hyunjin who closed the door of the passenger's seat that he forgot to close, admiring how soft hyunjin's long blonde hair looked as it slowly danced with the night wind.

minho will be honest, he looked hot, like very hot, but he still prefers hyunjin's natural jet black hair that was soft and fluffy, as how he remembered it. (i'm a bitch for black fluffy hair with mullets :PP) hyunjin smiled at him sincerely resulting him to smile back with a faint blush on his cheeks, holding on the coat the younger gave him that was flowing with the wind.

❝ very unprofessional of you mr. hwang. ❞
minho smiled, buttoning up hyunjin's shirt properly and straightening the collar. he ran his fingers onto hyunjin's long hair, combing it up to fix it until it fell flatteringly on the younger's face. hyunjin couldn't contain his heart to flutter and entire body to turn into jelly, melting at minho's touch that he hadn't felt in a long time. for the three years hyunjin spent in vain, he felt happy, he felt the void in his heart slowly filing up with warmth.

by instinct he closed his eyes, a smile still playing on his lips just feeling minho's touch as the older grazed his fingertips on his hair. minho blinked a few times before lightly slapping the younger's cheek, with hyunjin opening his eyes again confused at minho smirking. he shook his head and walked on ahead on his way still holding onto the jacket, hyunjin smiled and ran his fingers onto his hair, following minho inside the restaurant.

hyunjin insisted on paying after five minutes of poking and whining at minho, the older just gave in and went on ahead to order, who wouldn't like free meals anyway. their food arrived after a couple of minutes and they started to eat, having small conversations and laughing every once in a while. hyunjin took a moment to stare at minho smiling in front of him, a sight he hadn't seen in a long time, nothing much changed in minho, he was still the most beautiful in hyunjin's eyes and he doesn't think anything can change that even if years passed by.

he snapped out his thoughts and circled the grape juice on his glass, smiling as his heart was beating warmly after not being able to spend time with minho like this. he felt happy, and if fate really wasn't by their side, this was probably enough for him because it was the only thing he could get even though deep inside, his selfish thoughts wanted more, wanted to bring back the love they had before. or maybe hyunjin was wrong, maybe that love still hasn't disappeared in the both of them and they were just concealing it to play with reality. but minho already has someone else. a voice crept in the back of hyunjin's mind, his smile turning into a frown and a sullen look now sparkled in his eyes. and he's happier now that he's not with me.

he went on ahead and poked on his food, suddenly losing his appetite, he forced another bite and slowly chewed on it while minho was still enjoying his meal.
❝ i'm surprised youngmi didn't tag along. ❞
minho grinned, a sly smirk now appearing on hyunjin's face as he lifted up his glass to circle the grape juice again.
❝ she wasn't invited anyway. ❞
he said making minho laugh amused.

hyunjin was about to say something to drag on their conversation, liking how they were getting comfortable again and how they were talking like good friends when minho's phone rang. he took his phone and his eyes lit up as he looked at hyunjin and pointed at the screen.
❝ hyunjae hyung is calling, be right back. ❞
he said and hyunjin nodded, minho stood up and walked to the beach to answer the call. a sigh escaped his lips and he lightly pushed his plate away, not having the mood to eat anymore.

he was taken a bit by surprised, feeling something soft rubbing on his leg and he looked down seeing a dog looking up at him with sparkling eyes and it's tail wagging. he chuckled a little before giving it chunks of his uneaten food, petting it's brown fur.

hi! it's pass 12 am but i'm eating the cookies i baked a while ago bc i got hungry and wanted something sweet (they don't taste that good because we ran out of chocolate chips so i'm dipping them in sumn milk). hope you guys are eating well too, don't skip your meals!
