hyunjae jumped a little seeing minho now standing beside him with the most excited grin on his face.
❝ now let's go see the cats hyung! ❞
minho whined and hyunjae chuckled before they started walking.
they talked for a while, trying to get to know each other better and minho hasn't felt this comfortable in a while that they started to share personal problems to each other until they reached the cat café shelter.

they entered and minho's eyes lit up seeing the cats on the play area and he glanced at hyunjae who laughed a little before nodding his head. minho ran towards the play area and hyunjae smiled seeing him all giddy before going to the counter to get something to drink.

❝ you seem to really like cats. ❞
hyunjae said smiling, sipping on his ice americano as he watched minho petting one on his lap while they drank and ate.
❝ i used to have one when i was little but she died of old age since my mom adopted her when i was born, we basically grew up together. ❞
minho chuckled making hyunjae smile and stare at him.
they continued to drink their caffeines and shared the cake hyunjae bought which was raspberry to which minho surprisingly really liked.

they walked on the beach near hyunjae's home, the sun now lowering from the sky turning the atmosphere into a cool shade and hyunjae glanced at minho who was walking silently.
❝ what? ❞
minho asked looking at him as he noticed the older staring, hyunjae just chuckled.
❝ nothing, you're just so tiny and cute— oW! ❞
hyunjae groaned and bent down laughing as minho had kicked his knees, the younger crossed his arms and pouted.
❝ i'm not that short, you're just tall. ❞
he rolled his eyes and started to walk, leaving hyunjae there laughing the pain away and running towards him.

they sat by the stone wall they met while eating skewered berries and watching the sunset, with minho swinging his feet back and forth.
❝ you know, as by knowing you as you are right now, i wouldn't think you were my best friend's boss. ❞
minho placed the skewer down, hyunjae laughed and shook his head.
❝ i have different personalities when it comes to work and not, i'm glad i'm able to just be myself right now after years of just working and stress, so i have to thank you. ❞
hyunjae smiled at minho gratefully and minho smiled back before nodding his head.

❝ hey, tell me more about him, about hyunjin. ❞
hyunjae asked with a quiet voice and minho looked down before sighing and smiling a little to himself.
❝ he's actually, an amazing guy, he's really sweet and gentle. he gets really sensitive sometimes and acts like a child when i'm not with him, he gets jealous easily too. he loves taking me out on dates or just cuddling to watch movies he doesn't really pay attention to and he's so obsessed with strawberries and vanilla. it doesn't matter to him if he was wealthy because he was so down to earth and caring. we met last year and we started living together four months ago, he might be just really tired and stressed now that's why he's acting like that i've told you about, but it doesn't matter because i love him and i know he loves me too. ❞
minho hesitated a little as he fidgeted with the promise ring resting on his finger.

hyunjae nodded and a small sigh escaped his lips.
❝ i envy him, that he has someone like you. if i was just half as him.... ❞
he whispered and minho placed a hand on his shoulder for comfort.
❝ hey hyung, as you said, you and juyeon broke up because he wanted space. you never know, after some time he'll be ready to get back with you and things will get better. ❞
minho said but hyunjae shook his head.
❝ i did everything i can for him but he might've just.... fell out of love... and i can't blame him for that. ❞
he said.

❝ do you still love him? ❞
minho asked.
❝ of course i do, we've been together for almost five years and i thought we'll stay together longer, but things just don't turn out the way you always want it to be. ❞
hyunjae sighed and they sat in silence for a while as the sun was now disappearing down and behind the waters, the night sky now falling on to them.
❝ the universe can be really shitty sometimes. ❞
minho laughed and hyunjae laughed together with him.
