minho woke up that early morning, seeing hyunjae still sleeping next to him with face scrunched making him smile and put back the strands of hair that was poking the older's eyelids. he sighed to himself before getting out the bed, taking a shower while hyunjae was still asleep.
he dressed himself in some shorts and his new favorite striped sweater before getting out the shower, drying his hair with a small towel.

he giggled and threw some clothes to borrow towards hyunjae who just woke up and was now sitting up the bed, staring into space half alive.
❝ good morning. ❞
minho greeted brightly making hyunjae smile.
❝ you woke up pretty early. ❞
hyunjae laughed before folding the thrown clothes neatly on his lap, the blanket still draped over him. minho laughed and straddled himself onto the older's lap.
❝ i always wake up early. ❞
he said while giggling and hyunjae held onto his waist, staring at him with an eyebrow raised.

❝ we have to attend a soiree later yet you dragged me to do things with you last night. ❞
he rolled his eyes but minho just smirked.
❝ you enjoyed it anyway, i thought you liked me. ❞
minho pouted innocently, hyunjae just looked at him with an unamused look on his face.
❝ such a naughty boy. ❞
hyunjae said, minho bursted out laughing.
❝ heard that too many times now. ❞

❝ what's on your mind? ❞
minho asked softly seeing the skeptic look on the older's face, his arms still around his neck.
❝ nothing much, it's just that, juyeon now works for hyunjin's company and he's going to be at the soiree later and i... i just don't know what will happen if we meet again.... ❞
hyunjae said with a quiet voice, minho felt his heart skip beats of heaviness and he frowned, getting off hyunjae's lap and the older glanced up at him.
❝ we just fucked last night and now you're talking about your ex? i'm upset. ❞
he said with a scoff and crossed his arms. 

hyunjae laughed and stood up to hug minho from behind.
❝ i'm sorry minnie, it's been three years, you don't have to be upset about it. i'll be fine. ❞
hyunjae said but minho was still pouty and he turned away his gaze, the older just smiled and sighed at how cute minho was acting before getting in the shower and dressing up for the day.

minho went to the convenience store nearby to buy something to eat while hyunjae was still showering, he cooked a simple breakfast meal for the two of them and smiled seeing hyunjae all dressed up and drying his hair.
❝ hyunjin's going to be there too, are you sure you'll be okay? ❞
hyunjae asked while they were eating, the question made minho stop and his heart beated rapidly against his chest. he tried to cover the anxious look on his face by smiling.
❝ of course i'll be fine, it's been three years after all, i've been over him already. ❞
he forced a laugh, he didn't know if he was convincing hyunjae or himself, but he knew he was lying. hyunjae just smiled and nodded his head and they sat with silence finishing up their breakfast.

minho held the door as hyunjae went out his apartment, the older turned around to look at him with a smile.
❝ see you at the soiree later. ❞
hyunjae said and minho nodded his head, leaning up to peck the older's cheek, flustering him.
he waved goodbye at hyunjae who left and he closed the door, leaning onto it and looking around his apartment before sighing.
"hyunjin's going to be there too, are you sure you'll be okay?"

"no, of course i won't, because even after three years, i still haven't moved on."
minho didn't want to be unfair, he can't answer hyunjae's offer to start dating because no matter how much he liked him, a part of his heart won't let him and it left him in pain. he was still in love with someone else, someone too irreplaceable even if he tried to. it felt like suffering once again, because these feelings won't leave him alone no matter how hard or no matter how much he tried to move on and love someone else.
