ben's breath brushed eliana's eyelashes while the sunlight peeled over the horizon. it was their last day on tour together, and they hadn't slept alone since that night in lola's apartment.
ben couldn't stand to have her more than an arm's length away. eliana had become accustomed to his breath tickling her forehead as she drifted off to sleep and his yawns waking her up in the morning.
ben played his last show as race the day before, so all that was left was to get on a plane and leave.
his eyelids fluttered open, and he smiled, like every morning, at the girl curled up next to him. he began to hum a simple, familiar tune, oh, what a beautiful mornin' from oklahoma, as the sun rays beamed onto his face.
soon enough, she would have to leave him again. they would stay in new york for a litt over a week, but then eliana had to go back to chicago.
neither of them wanted to do long distance again, but they loved each other too much to even think about getting in the way of the other's dreams. they would settle for long facetime calls and weekend visits, if they could swing it.
and they would make it work, because they always did.
