Chapter 1:- Meeting with a brother

Note:-
● In this AU, Ash took the job as research assistant before going to Alola
Why you ask? 2 reasons
1) I wanna give Ash Dragonite and Lucario and Gengar will be the Haunter he left with Sabrina that joined him.
2) I really dont like Goh. He spoilt the entire build that we used to have for capturing a pokemon.
●No Galar Region and Galar characters will be there in this AU.
●No offence to any characters and shippers that are reading this story. Infact I am sacrificing some characters that I love just for the sake of the plot.
● Some of the first chapters will be a prologue to the actual story.
● Also I am switching some of Ash's pokemon. I am removing Torkoal, Palpitoad, Boldore and adding a shiny Metang(coz I love it) and a Bisharp.
So now that's out of the way let's get started.

The Story in the Alola anime till the time Ash won the league is the same. The battle with Prof Kukui doesn't happen as in the anime. The Guzzlord attack has happened. and the Elite 4 and Champion challenge has been shifted to a later date. ( The Elite 4 and champion are the same as in the games i.e Hala, Olivia, Acerola, Kahili and Prof Kukui.)

We now join Ash as he is waiting on the Mele Mele harbour for Brock.

"HEY BROCK, OVER HERE""pika pi", shouted a familiar raven haired trainer with z marks on his cheeks. Only these 2 features of his remained the same over the years. His body had grown quite a bit. He had become quite muscular and many girls would drool over him. Perched on his shoulder was his long time partner in crime and best buddy, the electric rodent Pikachu.

" Oh hey ash ho- wait oh my dear lady you are quite beautiful, you are an epitome of grace-", he was interrupted by a familiar pokemon which popped out of his pokeball and poison jabbed him." Toxicroak", exclaimed the pokemon and dragged him by his legs.

' Guess some things never changed' thought Ash.

After 15 seconds

"Hey Ash been a while since I came to Alola, how are you doing eh champion??", exclaimed Brock.
"Thanks Brock but I just won the league, I ain't champion yet."
"Oh come on Ash its a big deal to win the league too. I thought you should have won in Kalos too. I felt suspicious about you not winning especially with that special Greninja of yours".
"Kalos eh---", Ash trailed off.
"What happened Ash? Everything Allright?"
" Yeah its just-- nevermind I will talk to you about this later. I need your help winning the Champion challenge too. Come one lets get moving."
"Yeah sure."
"Also Brock although your recovery time to Toxicroak's poison jab has improved but I think your should stop flirting with girls so directly. This isn't correct ya know. Just approach in a subtle manner, kay? You will surely get a girlfriend, I know"
"Sure Ash, I will keep that in mind".
' How the heck did he observe this now after years of travelling together? Is it possible that his dense shell has broken. Impossible as it seems, I wonder how it is though I think it sure ain't Misty because she is dating Rudy now, but I probably shouldn't tell her. Maybe Dawn? nah I'll let it slide for now and ask him later' thought Brock.
"Um.... Hello Earth to Brock you there??", a voice snapped him out of his thoughts.
"Oh sorry Ash, I was just lost in thought. Lets get moving."said Brock.

Soon Ash and Brock reached Professor Kukui's house, the one who was a father figure to Ash. There they were treated to a delicious lunch by Professor Burnet, Kukui's wife. They all enjoyed a heart meal and thanked the professors and left to roam and train in the wilderness. Brock advised Ash that he should bring back his old pokemons for this challenge. He brought back some of his old pokemon and started training. The trained for almost 5 hours till sunset. Ash's Gible evolved into Gabite and Pignite evolved into Emboar. But the most important development was Charizard mastering Blast Burn. It wasn't a big surprise given his position as the strongest Charizard of the Charicific Valley but learning an ultimate move is indeed a big deal. It was now the time for sunset. They were joined by a girl in a white sundress with a white hat over her yellow blonde hair and her Alolan Vulpix in her arms. Yes she was Lillie Aether, the daughter of the President of Aether paradise and one of Ash's best friends. Ash had promised he would help her train get stronger since her loss to her brother in the league. A certain bipedal tiger was really happy about this. She decided that now it was time for her Vulpix to evolve so she asked her again. This time the ice type took the ice stone. As soon as it touched it with its paws a bright light engulfed it and it grew more than twice its size. Its six tails became 9 and its the fur on its head grew into a majestic crest like shape. Standing there after the glow subsided was an ice and fairy type in its majestic beauty, an Alolan Ninetales. After the intense training session, the three of them were sitting on the beach.

"Yaayy!!! Snowy finally chose to evolve. She looks so beautiful now. Look at that, Incineroar is drooling over her and look she is blushing too." Lillie exclaimed glad her pokemon evolved and found love as well.
"Ya I figured that earlier when you came. Both of them are really interested in each other." Brock said.

Meanwhile Ash was just enjoying relaxing, not listening in on their conversation as the two Pokemon went away from the training site on some sort of date.

"Phew that was some intense training, I didn't realise that all of them were so eager to train. Man Charizard is gonna be one hell of powerhouse. Lisa helped him a lot and I cant thank her enough", exclaimed Ash.
"You can say that again Ash. He and that Greninja of yours are truly on another level.", Brock said
"Greninja......", Ash trailed of his voice becoming sad snd depressed. His thoughts shifted to his Kalos journey. His pokemon, Greninja and Zygarde, Alain, Sawyer, Mairin, the rival trio Clemont , Bonnie and ..... Serena. He didn't know why he felt like this everytime when he thought of her. Her honey blonde hair waving in the cool breeze with a sparkle in those beautiful cerulean blue eyes and a million dollar smile just made her look gorgeous.
'Wait gorgeous, since when did I start using words like these to describe Serena. Man I really miss her. After that kiss .... and the diary I found at home...'

"Ash ASH ASSSHHHH", Lillie and Brock shouted in unison.

"Aaaaaah" Ash fell off the rock he was sitting on. " What was that for guys?"
"You kind of zoned off Ash, you have been doing this since the past few days" Lillie said.
" Yeah Ash, you also told me in the morning to stop flirting which you never did on our journey. And whenever we mention Kalos you kind of zone of . Is everything alright? You know you can always talk to me right?" Brock said.
"I am alright Brock. I just miss Greninja, Kalos and her.....", Ash said his tone lowering during the last part.
"Brock and I are here Ash. You can talk to us."Lillie said
" Yeah she is right you know. Your are closer to me than my own siblings Ash. I always consider you my little brother."

" Alright I guess its high time I got this off my chest. Thanks in advance you 2 for listening to me and helping me." Ash exclaimed.

Ash P.O.V

"You see Brock, in all of our journeys you were always there to guide me. We were like brothers. I always looked upto you for advice and support. True others supported me as well but none of them were like you. That is why I slumped in Unova after defeating a Darkrai and a Latios, hehe. But after I stepped in Kalos it was like something inside me snapped. Everyone in the group looked upto me as their leader. But it all started especially after meeting Serena. She was a childhood best friend of mine. When I lost my first gym she came to meet me after seeing me jump of the Prism Tower. Me being the idiot I was couldn't even remember her but that was due to some other reason. She reminded me my own words to 'Never Give Up Till the End' and that turned the game on its head. I won the gym battle on the second try and for the first time I invited someone on my journey. After that nearly in every gym battle she helped me. You know how difficult Kalos gyms can he sometimes. Every battle and I mean it, every gym battle she helped me. The list is too long. And for once I never fought with her, execpt once. I was really trying to master my the Ash- Greninja transformation and lost very badly in last gym battle. Heck it was even worse than the battle against Paul at lake Verity. But she came to find me in the middle of a fuckin snowstorm and I yelled at her. She threw snowballs at my face and told me, ' You are not the Ash I know, the Ash I know is optimistic, a leader, strong, passionate and 'never gives up till the end''.That snapped something inside me and I mastered the transformation and beat Wulfric's veteran team. And even in the league she kept supporting me while pursuing her own dream. Although she lost in the finals of the Master Class, she didn't cry a bit. Instead she had a smile on her face. She then decided to spread smiles across the world after she performed once after the Lumiose crisis. I personally thought it was a very noble cause. And when she was leaving for Hoenn, she said that I was her goal and she would become a stronger and more attractive woman for me and she ummm umm..", after this tiring monologue, the Ash Ketchum, the densest man on Planet Earth, was blusing.

" She what Ash? ", Brock asked listening to each word was flabbergasted to the core. He never in the wildest dreams thought that the dense Ash Ketchum would fall in love.

" She ummm.... kissed me ...on the lips", Ash said blushing furiously.

"WHAT?!!!!"both Brock and Lillie exclaimed
