Chapter 27

The next morning when Sean snd Leaf returned, the surprise would be an understatement when they saw two of the three birds from the Kanto Legendary bird trio. At first, Sean was furious when Ash and Serena told them that they have caught the Legendary pokemon but he relaxed when they explained to him that they're going to release them for their duties and will call them only when they need them for a big battle or if its an emergency. Mewtwo made special pokeballs for this purpose. After the Pokemon recovered and were introduced to the others, the legendaries were allowed to leave by Ash and Serena. Most of the Pokemon were in awe that there were two legendaries amongst the team. Swampert was congratulated by many for defeating a legendary while Charizard was boasting that he too defeated a legendary. Everyone sweatdropped at his antics. Soon Moltres and Articuno left and Ash and Serena began their training.

For the next few days, Ash and Sean trained a lot with their battling skills while Serena and Leaf did the same too. Serena taught her sister some performing techniques as well while Leaf trained her with battling. In between Ash and Serena would go out to find some Mega stones for their Pokemon. With Hoopa's and Mewtwo's help, they could pinpoint the location of some Megastones and get there easily as well. Ash found a Sceptilite, Heracronite, Glalieite and the most surprising one, a new mega stone for Infernape. Serena found a Megastone for her Absol and caught a Scizor. Surprisingly Scizor already had a Megastone with it, much to the luck of Serena.

Soon Ash and Serena finished their Coumarine city Gym Battles. Delphox swooped through Ramos' entire team. As for Ash, it was a good battle between Ramos' Mega Venasaur and Ash's Mega Glalie. Glalie emerged victorious because of its type advantage but was heavily poisoned. He somehow toughed it up and pulled through for Ash. Now Ash had Mega Evolution energy from 6 pokemon types namely Grass, Bug, Poison, Ground, Steel and Fighting. The next day, after his battle at the Coumarine Gym, Sean told Ash that he had some important stuff to discuss. So Ash made his way to a remote part of the island which they used as a battlefield for intense training. When Ash arrived, Sean was already there waiting for him with his hands in his pockets, staring into the unknown.

"Sean, you alright?" Ash asked, concerned for his elder brother.

"I am tensed, Ash. There is something on my mind. I am concerned about you." Sean replied.

"What? Why is that?"

"Because of this," Sean said while taking out a Megastone from his pocket and showing it to Ash.

"What Megastone is this and when did you find this?" Ash asked confused and excited.

"I found this some time ago, near the Wela Volcano in the Alola Region. And this is a Megatsone for Charizard." Sean replied glumly.

"What? But Charizard already has the Charizardite Y with him" Ash asked confused.

"I know but this is not a Charizardite X or Y. This is Charizardite Z."

"What Charizard has another mega evolution? Wow, that's awesome."

"Still the same excited kid I see," Sean said chuckling. "Well let me warn you Ash, the power of this megastone is no joke. I am giving this to you only on one condition. You train as I say before you use it. It's not gonna be easy and it's just like how you trained with Greninja but in a more intense way." Sean said in a stern tone.

"But why aren't you using it then? I mean Char is relatively powerful right." Ash asked

"Yeah, he is," Sean replied with a sigh. "But he's growing old. He may still have it in him to fight hard and all, but he has grown quite old. Also, I don't want to replace the megastone he has. Reminds me and Mewtwo of dad." Sean said the last part in a sad tone.
