A week since that night, Garrett had been arrested for Alison's murder. Apparently someone had turned in the missing page from Ali's autopsy which showed proof of her murder being linked to Garrett the night she went missing

When Jason had found out from the news he and Lily had both been beyond confused, Jason because he had trusted Garrett, and Lily because she knew he was innocent

But the texts from A hadn't stopped

Lily had gotten one the night of his arrest saying 'If you try break him out, I tell your friends and your boyfriend the truth'

Lily couldn't tell Jason anymore than she already had, he was already in danger and she wasn't going to involve him anymore

"Lil!" Caleb called from downstairs so she got off her bed and headed down the steps with Teddy at her heels

"What?" She asked

"This came for you," He passed her a black envelope. Lily opened it and inside was an invitation

'You are Cordially invited to the Rosewood Junior Society Masquerade Ball'

"What is it?" He asked

"An invitation to a masquerade ball," She frowned

"Are you going to go?"

"I don't want to," She shrugged

"Why not?"

"Because it's all fancy dresses and heels and costumes," Lily grinned. Her phone rang in her pocket so she slid it to answer "Hello?"

"Hey did you get the invite?" Aria's voice came through the phone

"Yeah, I'm guessing you guys did too,"

"We did, and we got a message from A,"

"Saying what?"

"Be there when the clock strikes midnight - A" She said

"Oh god," Lily groaned "See you guys tomorrow night then," She hung up and noticed Caleb was watching her

"So you're going now?"

"I have to," She rolled her eyes "Come on, we're going to be late for school," He grabbed his bag and they left Teddy inside since Lily's mum was home so Lily drove them both to school

When she walked into the locker corridor she noticed the other 4 girls gathered around Spencer's locker whispering quietly, when they noticed her they all seemed to fall quiet

Lily just rolled her eyes and continued on to her locker

"Guys," Aria said quietly "I mean, I know what Mona said made some sense but do we really think Lily is A?"

"A or not, I don't think we can trust her," Emily said

"Why not?" Aria asked

"Because the night of Garrett's arrest when Melissa went to the police station to talk to them she left her phone on the counter and in her history was 3 calls with Lily," Spencer explained

"And you said she didn't get a message from A in her invitation," Hanna said to Aria

"What, you think she sent it?" She asked

"Well why else wouldn't A send another one to her?" 

The bell rang for first lesson so they all went their separate ways to class. 

At the end of the school day Lily and Caleb came home to Jason there

"Hi," Lily smiled and reached up to press a kiss to his lips
