Hanna was only speaking to Caleb, ever since her mother was arrested she had only spoken two words to the other girls and wouldn't eat the food they made and brought for her. Instead, she spent her weekend holed up in her room on the phone to Caleb

Not only that, Connor's car had been destroyed on Friday night and although Lily actually didn't do it, she wished she could high five whoever had. And she had a creeping feeling it may have been a certain younger Montgomery sibling

"Hey," Mike smiled when Lily finally got to her locker

"Were you waiting for me?" Lily asked

"Yeah," He grinned "I'm guessing you heard about Connor's car,"

"That cheeky look of yours is telling me you had something to do with it," Lily raised her eyebrow playfully

"I didn't," He laughed "But I wish I had. I actually thought it was you, I heard about your fist fight with Connor on Friday,"

"Yeah I wish I had too," Lily chuckled "So if you weren't destroying his car then what were you doing on Friday?"

"Stuff," He shrugged "Working out. You?"

"Me too," Lily nodded

"I'm gonna start learning self-defence," Mike said "I'll see you," He nodded and walked off to his locker so Lily got her stuff and made her way towards her first class, geography with Hanna

"Hey!" Lily smiled and gave the blonde girl a hug "How have you been?"

"Stressed, tired, bored," She sighed "Plus I can literally feel everyone's judgey eyes on me,"

"Ignore them," Lily rolled her eyes "None of them know how much we have been through lately, we just have to stay strong because if we crack then A wins,"

"That's a lot easier said than done," Hanna said and Lily nodded "But it is kind of nice to be somewhere other than my bedroom,"

"Well if you ever want an escape from that room then my front door is always unlocked," Lily chuckled

"When's your mother getting back?" Hanna asked

"She got back on Saturday and she's leaving again tomorrow afternoon for a trip to Florida, some sort of training week her job does," She explained and they were hushed by their teacher so they fell silent

During the lesson, Mr Hackett called Lily out of class, and Hanna shot her a worried look but she just shrugged and followed their principal to the office

"I'm sure you've heard that your peer Connor's car was destroyed last Friday evening" He said and she nodded "Well his parents have told the school that you are the one who smashed it"

"What?!" She exclaimed "I don't give a shit about that kid so why would I bother smashing his car-"

"It appears that after your little fist fight in the locker room they believe you did it"

"Look, if I had done it, he deserves it, but I didn't I swear" Lily argued

"If you have an alibi for Friday night, I have no reason to expel you" He said "Unfortunately, as this is a case of property damage the police have been called and if you can provide them with an alibi or another explanation then there will be no expelling today"

As if on cue there was a knock at the door, and Officer Holbrook poked his head inside. "Hello, Mr Hackett, Lily" The young girl merely nodded "Sir, do you mind if I speak with Ms Jackson alone?"

"Of course," Hackett nodded and left the room, so Holbrook took his seat behind the desk and faced Lily

"I heard you're being accused of smashing your peer Connor's car" He said and she nodded again "Obviously my first question is whether or not you did it"
