Hope of Tomorrow
A stream of waves
cascaded the cliffs
of my heart
The echo of their fall
grated harshly
against the walls of my hope
Would the world
ever be the same
as yesterday?
Oh the fear
of a damaged future
Heavy skies
threaten to break
overshadowing my dreams
Clinging to the silver lining
of today
following its thread
Sunshine of life
melt away the clouds of sorrow
Moon of splendour
hold back
the tides of woe
Let me rest
in the calm serenity of the moment
Dreams of tomorrow
uninterrupted
...
Hope of tomorrow
crudely broken in a moment
as the inky sun
welcomed the death of peace
