SONG OF THE WIND
Raindrops fall with the beat of
Nature's drum
Leaves twitch and rustle
Dancing to the quiet rhythm
With the whisper of the wind
The song begins
One heard only by the elements
And the animals
And
Occasionally
The solitary
Lost
Wounded
Dejected
And despised
For the thriving populace
With their busy lives
And their endlessly
Essential
Devices
The only sound heard
Is a buzz
A whirlwind
Less a whisper and more
A cacophony
Less a song
And more
A shriek
Echoing their pain and
Emptiness
Raindrops fall
Leaves dance
And the wind whispers its song
To any who might listen
Even
Those unable
Or unwilling
