Izuku gasped and jerked awake with a sharp pain in his abdomen. He whimpered softly and placed his hands on his swollen belly. "Pup... What's the matter..?" He muttered, voice heavy with sleep.
He yawned and rubbed his eyes. He reached over, then sighed as he felt the empty spot where his mate should be. "Papa got up early. It's still dark outside."
The Omega rolled onto his back, flinching and groaning with another pain. "Pup... Stop it with the kicks... I know you're strong, but it's time to rest..."
He lay in silence, trying to relax. Moonlight illuminated his room, curtain blocking minimal light. Izuku hoped his mate would return soon.
With the third pain, Izuku realized it wasn't the pup kicking, and that things weren't as quiet as they seemed.
He heard guard beginning to run in the halls and shouting both inside and out. A glow of torches shown from underneath the terrace outside his windows.
Izuku quickly got up and shuffled to the windows, supporting his belly. His eyes widened as he spotted his soldiers fighting with others, dragons roared from rooftops and billowing flames through the streets of his city.
Gasping and covering his mouth, he stepped away from the window. He cried, gripping his stomach as a sharper pain rippled through him. Izuku gripped the bedpost, panting and whimpering as between his legs became wet.
"Oh no... No no..."
He trembled, tears building in his eyes, even as he heard his mate's voice and footsteps racing towards his room.
The door flung open and he looked up, locking eyes with his mate.
"K-Kacchan..."
Katsuki ran over, guards Tenya and Eijirou barricading the doorway. "Izuku, we need to get you out of the palace!"
Izuku grabbed onto his mate once he was close enough, distress coming off him in waves as his Alpha tried to calm him down. "I-I can't!"
"What? Yes- Izuku, we need to get you out!" Katsuki began leading him towards the door, but Izuku sobbed and pushed him away. Katsuki pivoted. "What-"
"I'm in labor!"
Katsuki froze as well as his two most trusted guards.
Izuku gasped and grabbed back onto the bed, wailing with a sudden contraction. Katsuki was quick to grab his mate, preventing him from collapsing. "Shit- pup has fan-fucking-tastic timing! The palace is under attack!"
"This- this can't be happening," Izuku sobbed, gripping onto his mate tightly.
Katsuki held up his mate, growling as he heard oncoming soldiers.
"They're ours, your majesty!" Eijirou called in and it eased the tension in Katsuki's shoulders only slightly.
The King pulled back and cupped Izuku's face, chest twinging at the apparent pain and panic on his lovely mate's face. "We have to get you out of here. I know it's scary- I'm scared as shit." Izuku wept, leaning into Katsuki's hands, placing his own over them. "I need to get you and our pup somewhere safe."
