Smutty and angsty

Izuku hummed softly, chopping up herbs within the comfort of his shop. A knock of the open door brought up his attention and who he saw made him smile. "Kacchan! Wow, two visits in one day. I feel pretty special," he sang, looking back to his herbs.

"Yeah, well... I'm about to leave."

"Leave? You just got here?" Izuku shook his head, still smiling.

"I mean I'm leaving, Deku."

His hand paused after slicing through the stems of lavender, entire body going still. "When..?" His voice had fallen to a whisper and he hadn't dared look back to the Pirate.

Katsuki licked his lips and closed the door behind himself. "My crew sets sail before the first light of dawn... the drafts are being sent out."

Izuku inhaled sharply, setting his knife aside. His eyelids fluttered as tears swelled and stung his eyes.

"I know you cannot come with... so I came to say goodbye." Katsuki set his cap aside and slowly approached the Omega, head low.

This is different than all their previous goodbyes. Sure, Katsuki has sailed the seas before without Izuku, but he always came back. However, there is a war threatening to rain down hellfire over their heads at any second- hence the draft. If Katsuki is drafted before he leaves, he'll be sent to fight and possibly die. If he's caught running, he'll be killed. If he's captured by the enemy while on the run, he'll be forced to fight for them and likely die, or be tortured and killed for information. However, if his sail is successful, he'll be on the other side of the world, running illegal trade between the western countries, and Izuku will still likely never see him or speak to him again.

Izuku sniffed and rubbed his nose, turning fully to face the pirate. "Do you have everything you need?"

"Of course, I'm not fucking stupid," Katsuki scoffed and crossed his arms, narrowing his eyes.

The greenette smiled slightly and nodded. "Right, of course. The other's know they're leaving, yes?" A short nod confirmed. "And you all understand the risks-"

"Deku, yes." Firmly, Katsuki grabbed Izuku's shoulders, carefully shaking him. "Yes, we know it all. We are prepared." As tears began to slip down Izuku's cheek, lip starting to tremble, Katsuki sighed and brushed his knuckles over Izuku's freckles. "We will be fine. You shouldn't worry your stupid nose off."

Izuku giggled softly and rubbed at his face, gently pushing Katsuki off as he turned back around. He shuffled into the storage room and opened an overhead cabinet. "You should take some herbs with you. I have plenty for preventing infection, preventing scurvy, salves for sunburns, salves for-"

"Deku, you don't need to send us off with anything-"

"But I want to." He turned around, holding some of the jars to his chest. "I want to make sure I can help as much as I can, Kacchan. This will make me feel better because then I know you are less likely to get sick on the sea."

Katsuki sighed once again, approaching Izuku and taking the jars carefully. "Alright, I'll bring 'em."

"Make sure you use them."
