Our heroes arrives in Slateport City, going to the shopping area for getting more supplies.

Ash sees some Pokeblock kits and gets two, one for her and one for May, knowing she may want one for her contests.

Ash smiles and gives it to May, who hugs him a bunch, thanking him over and over again.

Ash makes some of the poke blocks once he was done being crushed by May's hug.

He mixed Oran, Mago, and Bluk berries together, since he had many to spare. His and May's pokemon tries it and falls in love with the block candies.

Ash had even made a pokeblock juice for May's Beautifly, since it can't really eat the blocks, who seems content with it, Ash having added a dash of Moomoo milk and honey to the pokeblock juice.

May writes down the recipe for both the blocks and the juice. She makes some of her own pokeblock, but they didnt taste good. But she made a juice version and her Beautifly likes it.

May was clearly bummed, but Ash cheers her up with "Look on the bright side, you have a pokeblock juice recipe of your own that your Beautifly likes."

This made May feel a lot better and a wild Munchlax eats the leftover pokeblocks May made.

Ash chuckles and explains that Munchlax aren't really picky eaters and that May has another fan.
With that, May catches the big eater pokemon.

"You know, it's actually cute! And Snorlax is too." May said, Ash smiles at that.

Ash and the gang goes to a building with the frontier brain, Roland.
Ash challenges said frontier brain to a battle, to which he accepts it.

"A six on six and in triple battles, sounds good?" Roland asks, to which Ash accepts the conditions.

They go to the field and gets ready, Roland let's out a Nuzleaf, Numel, and Barboach while Ash brings out Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip.

The match was on live TV, the head of the pokemon contest committee, some of the coordinators, many trainers, and the head of the Battle Frontier was watching.

Nuzleaf went for Bullet Seed on Mudkip, Numel with Fire Spin on Treecko, and Barboach a Water Gun on Torchic, but they all dodge, Treecko uses Bullet Seed on Barboach, Torchic uses Flamethrower on Nuzleaf, and Mudkip uses Water Gun on Numel.

The three got hit hard, but are still standing, the starters use Double Team and the previous Bullet Seed, Flamethrower, and Water Gun again, and the pokemon ran in laps during the attacks, causing an elemental tornado, the Bullet Seeds popping, making things similar to fireworks and knocks out the three pokemon.

"Wow! That was awesome!" May cheered as Ash returns his three pokemon and brings out Pikachu, Eevee, and Togetic while Roland sends our a Charizard, an Aggron, and an Articuno!

That's right, the legendary pokemon can reproduce. Still, him having an Articuno is shocking. Ash thought to himself.

Aggron targeted Togetic with Iron Head, but dodging by spinning and flying up and with Metronome, it miraculously came out on top with Aura Sphere, but Aggron was still standing.

Charizard and Eevee were clashing Dragon Tails and Iron Tails, even though Eevee was smaller, she was more nimble, and she spins around using many Shadow Balls, Charizard still standing even though it was hit a lot.

Articuno tries to end it quickly with Sheer Cold, but Pikachu was too quick to dodge with Dig and pops out, spinning with a combination of Thunderbolt and Iron Tail, making an electrical tornado on the tail, trapping Articuno and drags in Aggron and Charizard in the attack.

The three large pokemon are barely hanging in there and the three smaller ones ends it with Pikachu's Volt Tackle, to which Eevee surrounds Pikachu with Trump Cards and Togetic surrounding Pikacu with Fairy Wind, Volt Tackle having a shining and rainbow affect and hits hard.

Once the attack was over, the three goliaths were down.

Roland was shocked, but shakes it off, returning his pokemon and goes to Ash with a smile.

"I'm impressed Ash. I didnt think I'd lose. You more than earned the Knowledge Symbol." Roland says, handing him a golden coin.

Ash accepts it and heads off with the gang, many people, including news reporters crowd Ash.

An orange haired woman goes to Ash with a microphone and says "Ash Ketchum, I'm with the Pokemon Contest Committee, Vivian Meradin. We all saw that stupendous battle with the Frontier Brain, Roland. And with the performances during the battle, I must ask, do you plan to be a pokemon coordinator?"

Ash was flustered, but shakes his head no. Vivian seemed to have an idea and also says "Maybe for every pokemon contest for a town you're in, maybe you can give everyone a demonstration?"

Ash thinks about it. It would be interesting and maybe it can turn out to make good battle combos.

Ash turns to the crowd and says "I'll do that if my pokemon wants to do that."

Pikachu, Eevee, and Togetic didnt object to this and the crowd cheers.

"Wonderful! We'll all see you at the contest tomorrow!" Vivian said, the crowd leaves.

"Wow Ash, that's impressive. You and your pokemon captured everyone's hearts with those performances!" Brock complimented, Ash blushing modestly and turns to May, who seems jealous.

"You know, if it weren't for May, I wouldnt have made those little changes in my pokemon's attacks." Ash said, May seems surprised.

"I was actually interested in contests, but not enough to actually be a coordinator, mainly to watch. But I did have the idea to make those demonstrations or be an instructor."
Ash continued, May was still surprised.

"So, you did contribute in my confidence for making performances May." Ash finishes, May seems proud of herself.

"How about I help you with your battling skills? You still need help with that." May agrees and the two start practicing for the contest.
