After that incident with teams Magma and Aqua, along with some pokemon evolutions, our heroes are at the beach next to Granite Cave.

A Spoink bounces around happily, but a Murkrow swoops down and grabs the pearl on it's head.

"Hey! Give Spoink it's pearl back!" Ash demanded to the darkness pokemon.
Murkrow laughs in a hardy manner, but drops the pearl on a hard rock with small, sharp rocks surrounding it, the pearl shattering.

Spoink bounces to the now broken pearl, which wasnt even fixable, since most of the pieces were now too small.

Ash's Torkoal started to cry a lot, feeling bad for Spoink and uses Flamethrower on Murkrow, hitting it.

Brock then catches Murkrow and demands it to apologize to Spoink after transferring Vulpix and Forretress to his old Gym.

Murkrow pouted, but Torkoal seemed to ready an Overheat, winched scares the dark bird into apologizing to the psychic pig.

Torkoal stopped it's attack and comforts Spoink. Ash pets Spoink.

"Hey, don't worry. We'll get you a new pearl Spoink." Ash coos to the pokemon, to which it cheered up.

"Ash, do you even know where to get a new pearl?" Max asked, to which Ash nods and explains
"I've been to Maisie island before with Professor Oak when I was younger. It's also called Clamperl Island. Spoinks get their pearls from Clamperl's pearls."

May seemed fascinated. Brock chuckles and says "Teleport?"
Ash nods to this and teleports the group to a new island, a big building there.

Ash knocks and a brunette man in a white lab coat opens it. He seems to recognize Ash.

"Ash? Is that you? You've gotten so big!" The man said, to which Ash nods and turns to his friends and says
"Everyone, this is Isaiah. He's a Clamperl researcher."

The group introduces themselves, to which Isaiah greets them politely and then says "I'm glad you kept your promise Ash." Ash smiles, blushing modestly.

"Actually, we need your help. You sees, this Spoink's pearl broke thanks to a Murkrow dropping it after stealing it." Ash explained, to which Isaiah smiles.

"I see. Well, you're in luck. The Clamperl you helped on your first visit seems to be holding one." Isaiah explains, to which Spoink was excited to hear it can get a new pearl soon.

Everyone went inside, a pair of Clamperl hops to Ash, one of which was holding a pearl.

Ash smiles and pets them, saying "Hi guys. I missed you two." To which the Clamperl cheer adorably.

Spoink hopped over to the female Clamperl, who was holding the pearl.
<Hi there. I'm Spoink. My pearl broke. Is it okay if I have yours?>

Clamperl smiles and replied with <Of course you can. I didn't know what to do with it.>

With that, Spoink uses it's telekinesis to place the pearl on it's head and bounces around happily.

"Be sure to take good care of that pearl, okay Spoink?" Ash asks, to which Spoink nods.

"Hey Ash, can you make lunch? I miss your amazing cooking." Isaiah asks, to which Ash blushes and nods.

Ash goes in the kitchen and gets to work, making onigiri, okonomiyaki, sweetened cream cheese wontons, and malasadas for dessert.

May was petting one of the Clamperl, a female, to which it seems interested in May and pokemon contests.

Max was also with a male Clamperl, helping it perfect some of it's techniques and moves.
