Thalia POV
Im kind of worried about Lupins class today. I mean yeah some demigods have normal fears. But the majority of us have seen things more horrific than these wizards worst nightmares. And we also tend to fear things that are quite deep.
Professor Lupin had us all line up in front of a dusty cupboard. Apparently, Boggarts like the dark.
Things kind of went normally. Some were afraid of spiders, like Ron. Neville was afraid of this curly haired woman with rotten teeth and dark eyes.
"His used to be our old potions professor. I guess Neville got over it. Thats Bellatrix Lestrange. Shes dead now but she was one of Voldemorts followers." Whispered Hermione.
Peoples fears would come out of the box, they'd say 'ridiculous' and voila! There fears became something else.
I was the first demigod to step up. I raised my wand to prepare, but what appeared completely surprised me. Out popped my mother. She looked slightly drunk, maybe even high. She looked me dead in the eye.
"Jason. Zoe. Luke. Annabeth. No one ever stays with poor Thalia. So many friends gone. Wonder whos next to leave?"
I hadnt ever thought of mum as scary. Extremely pathetic maybe. But not scary.
"Ridiculous!" I yelled. My mum turned into a clown and started dancing. Bit random, but ok. Professor Lupin looked at me. He didnt expect me to answer the question in his eyes, but I did.
"Abandonment." I stated plainly. He just nodded.
Guess I took abandonment issues to a whole new level.
Leo went next. Fire. The Boggart turned into a huge roaring fire. But it wasnt normal. It was out of control, eating the oxygen in the air.
"Ridiculous!" He pointed his wand and yelled. A bucket of water appeared and the fire sizzled out. Id heard about what happened to Leos mum. The wizards think hes scared of fire, but no. He is scared of himself. Of losing control.
Pipers dad appeared for her. All he said was ," Piper who?" But that was enough I know her dads famous, makes sense shes scared that he will get caught up in the fame and leave her behind. I get it, though mum wasnt nearly as famous as Tristan McLean. Some of the wizards recognised him but didnt say anything.
Jason was scared of feeling inferior. He spent his whole life trying to prove himself. But there was always something else that needed to be done.
Frank was scared of fire too. Seeing as his life is literally a stick, I get it. No wonder hes not Leos biggest fan. Hazel was scared of hurting people. Her whole Jewel curse thing is kinda rough I guess.
When Nico went I sucked in a breath. So did Percy. Bianca. Nico stood in shock. "You're a dissapointment. You think I died just so you could sit and brood. Your worthless!"
Nico just frowned. The Boggart finally got something wrong. Nicos biggest fear is not making Bianca proud, but even I know Bianca would never say something like that. The Boggart knows your fears, but it cant know the people in our heads. Only we can.
It strikes me a bit odd that Percy always ends up going last in these things. Its like he knows his will be the most talked about so he is trying to make a grande finale. Percy stepped up.
The Boggart shuddered for a bit, before flashing to different people. They all were saying the same thing, "Its YOUR fault!"
Bianca. Zoe. Castor. Lee. Michael. Beckendorf. Selena. Ethan. Luke. Bob the friendly titan. And Annabeth.
Percy didnt flinch, even when it stopped on Annabeth. "Its your fault. Why didnt you save me?" The hurt in her voice sounded so real. But Percy already blames himself for their deaths. His fear was that they blamed him, but he wont ever know for sure until he joins them. He isnt going to take a wizard monsters word for it. Personal Loyalty, always a flaw. The Boggart just zipped straight back to the box when Percy said Ridiculous.
"Ok... Umm.... 10 minute break." Announced Lupin. Everyone walked to their own group, All the while shooting our group sympathetic looks.
"Dude, im never doing that again." Leo said. "Agreed." Said Frank.
I nodded my head, as did everyone else.
I looked down. The wizards definitely think we are unstable now. Especially after Percy. I looked over at him. He was just staring at his wand.
"I think Annabeth would have liked this place," he whispered, quiet enough so only I could hear. "Yeah, she definitely would have. Especially the architecture." I added. Percy smiled blissfully. "I havent heard anyone mention the word architecture in a long time."
"Okay everyone breaks over. Lets get back to the lesson. Time for Patronuses."
