Hermione POV
Percy has already figured out what Professor Lupin is, I can tell. He has gotten much better at this demigod thing. "Hi class, since there are new students at Hogwarts I'll re-introduce myself. I am Remus Lupin, your Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher this year." Lupin said. "I know Professor Moody, when he was here, went over them in your 4th year but today I will be going over Unforgivable Curses again." Lupin obviously didn't want to mention it in front of the new students but Mad-eye was killed by a death eater last year. "Even though I strongly disagreed with this, the Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt, has said since we are going over the curses that you should be given a demonstration. Now, i will not demonstrate the Cruciatus Curse or the killing curse for obvious reasons, but can anyone tell me what they do?" Everyone put their hand up, even the new demigod Leo.
Percy POV
The teacher is a werewolf. I assume he's not dangerous though. Anyway, when Leo put his hand up to answer the question about magic I had absolutely no idea what he was doing.
"Ahh, I see one of our new students has been doing some reading. Can u tell me the answer Mr...?" Said the teacher.
"Valdez, sir, and the killing curse kills u sir." Leo explained very detailed. "Right you are Me Valdez." The teacher chuckled. I don't know what he expected, he asked us what "the killing curse" did. Even Leo could figure it out. Hermione explained that the cruciatus curse is a torture curse that makes people feel unimaginable pain. "Correct again. 10 points each to Mr Valdez and Miss Granger. Now as I said I have been asked to demonstrate, well not even demonstrate but perform the imperious curse on everyone in this class." A shocked gasp rang out through the classroom. " Even tho Voldemort is dead, he still has some people loyal to him out there who are still doing bad things and the minister of magic thinks it's best that you all know what it's like to be under the curse. For those of u who don't know the imperious curse can make people puppets. Do whatever the person who cast it says." Ahaha this is going to be fun. "Everyone stand up and get in a line shoulder to shoulder. One at a time you will come to the front and I will perform the curse. Try to keep yourself from doing it as best you can, but some people's wills will be stronger than others." We all got up and stood in a line, I got pushed to the end of it somehow. Neville went first. The teacher put out his wand and whispered imperio, then said jump around like a rabbit. Neville's legs started to shake but he stood for a good 3 seconds before jumping around. "Very good Neville you didn't start jumping immediately which is something." One by one the class went up. No one lasted longer than 3 seconds. Hermiones friend Harry went and actually lasted a good 10 seconds. "Incredible Harry. Very well done." Hermione and her boyfriend, Ron, both started jumping after about 5 seconds. Finally it got to the demigods, and somehow I knew this wasn't going to go well. Frank went first, then Hazel, Nico,Jason,Piper,Leo,Thalia and lastly me. Franks legs were shaking uncontrollably like he wanted to jump but his feet were cemented to the ground. Lupin repeated the command more forcefully and Frank went off. But he lasted a lot longer than everyone else. Probably 40 seconds or so. "Incredible. I've never seen someone last so long." But he was about to. All the demigods lasted about the same length as Frank, though they were all struggling especially Leo. Nico stood for a good minute trembling. He always was incredibly stubborn. After was seemed ages it was my turn. I walked up and stood in front of the teacher. Just like I'd watched him do a thousand times he lifted his wand and said the word imperio and then gave me the command. But unlike everyone before I didn't start jumping or shaking. I just stood there. I could here a faint...
jump jump jump
at the back of my mind, but no part of me wanted to jump and look like a fool so I just stood there. Lupin repeated it over and over again, even the spell. But I still stood firm, i didn't feel anything. Didn't feel an urge to jump. It's like he hadn't even done anything.
Everyone was looking at me astounded. Well, almost everyone. The demigods looked like they knew something like this was going to happen. Harry looked outright murderous. I don't get what his problem is. I can tell he has a special bond with teacher, but it ain't like I'm going to steal his spot. "Incredible, u didn't even move a muscle." Wowed Lupin. Before he could question what I'd felt the bell rung, so with everyone still staring at us, we grabbed our bags and left.
