Mer was going back to work for the first time today. She was nervous but she needed to go.
"Derek, are you ready?"
"Yeah, the kids?"
"Mhm."
"Are you ready?" He asked.
"Yeah, that's why I asked you."
"No, I mean are you ready."
"Oh. Yeah. If I don't go I will always be afraid."
"Ok."

Mer's POV

Trauma 911
Ughh. I ran to the ambulance bay and waited along with everyone else.

"Finn Dandridge. 38 year old male. Car accident. Possible trauma to the head. Obvious broken tibia to the left leg. Unconscious at the scene." A paramedic said.

I froze. I don't think any one else realized who that was considering I was the only general surgeon on the case. And everyone else hasn't met Finn.

I couldn't move.
"Dr. Grey? Are you ok?" Jo asked.
"Uhh yeah. Prep a trauma bay!"
"Yes Dr."

You are ok. If anything happens, someone will find you. You will be fine.

"Wilson."
"Yes Dr. Grey?"
"I want him in four point restraints."
"But-"
"No. I want him in them now."
"Yes ma'am."

They put the restraints on Finn.
"Dr. Grey, I'm going to go get the portable ultrasound."
"Ok Wilson."

I was shaking. Then Finn started squirming around.

I grabbed a scalpel and backed up into a corner.

"Hello Meredith." Finn was able to choke out.
I stayed quiet.

"Why so scared?" He tried to get up but couldn't.

"I was paged?" Callie said walking in.

Realizing who that was and seeing my makeup shift weapon.
"Meredith go. Page Bailey or Richard. You shouldn't be on this case." She took the scalpel out of my hand.

"Oo. Ok."

I ran into a supply closet and broke down. I couldn't breathe.

"Hey Callie. Have you seen Meredith?" Alex asked.
"Not since I kicked her off the case."
"I can't find her."
"Can't find who?" Derek questioned coming behind them.
"Meredith."
"She can't be alone. Help me find her."

"Mer?"
I heard Derek walk in.
"I- he- he is..he is here...an- and I...can-can't...breathe." I choked out. Breathing heavy.
"Ok. You are ok. Breathe in. And out. You will be fine."
"Yea?"
"Yea."
"I need to go back to work."
"Ok."
