Chapter 81: Joven

Joven's Pov

"So you go with the name Misa now huh? Is it really the name you're using? Or that's just a nickname for you?" I asked her as she got out of the bathroom.

Hindi naman siya nakakibo kaagad.

Dahan-dahan rin siyang lumingon sa akin.

She changed her look huh? Well, it suits her better.

And I am hoping that she's doing well right now.

"J-Joven"

I smiled at her and nodded. "Yep that's me"

"J-Joven" Looks like she doesn't know what to say huh?

I walked close to her and then gave her a pat on her head. "Yes its me Khiena. Hindi mo na kailangang ulit-ulitin pang banggitin ang pangalan ko" I said.

She looked at me straight into my eyes. "It's just been a few months and honestly, I am not yet ready to meet you" she said.

I squinted my eyes when I noticed that there's a hint of fear from her eyes. 

So I moved a step backward and looked at her seriously. 

It's just been a few months so I know that she's still afraid of meeting me nor anyone she met back at our hometown. Well, she ran away right? She even hid herself. And in just a few months, I found her. Who would've thought that, right?

She slowly made her hand into a fist and she's now biting her knuckles.

I think she's just preventing herself to speak? Or is she preventing her fear from bursting out?

"Khiena---"

"No! No..." napaatras siya ng kaunti at takot na tumingin sa akin.

Sigh. I knew it. She thinks that I'm here to take her back.

"Khiena? What---" napatingin ako sa gilid nang sumulpot ang isang lalaki na kasama siguro ni Khiena.

"Isaac, Khiena--" Erika was cut off. Probably she was surprised to see me.

I smiled at Erika and gave her a nod.

Kinalabit niya rin ang kasama niyang lalaki. "Isaac, uhm, balik na muna tayo sa table natin" 

Nang makaalis na sila ay ibinalik ko ang aking tingin kay Khiena na natatakot pa rin.

"You're here to take me back, right? Don't take me back. I don't want to be there. Not yet" she begged and a tear suddenly dropped from her eye.

I can't take it anymore!

I immediately hugged her tight. Nagpupumilit pa nga siya na makawala sa yakap but I didn't let go. "Hey, its alright. I won't take you back" 

Pagkasabi ko nun ay kumalma na siya. "P-promise?" she asked.

I nodded. "Yes. I promise" I said as I caress her back.

She then hugged me too. It was tight. And then I heard her sobs.

"That's a promise. You won't take me back okay?" she said while sobbing onto my chest.

"A promise is a promise. I won't take you back. I won't even tell anyone that I found you. So rest assured"

Zavriel's Pov

"Ne! Sorera o mitsumeru no o yame nasai" sabi ni Erika.

Translation: Hey! Stop staring at them

Tinaasan ko naman siya ng kilay. "Dare ga karera o mitsumete iru nodesu ka? Dare mo sorera o mite imasen" I said.

Translation: Who is staring at them? No one is looking at them

"Are you jealous?"

Pinanlakihan ko naman siya ng mga mata at isinubo ko ang isang buong bavarian donut sa kanyang bibig.

"Damare Erika-chan"

Translation: Shut up Erika

Kumunot naman ang kanyang noo. "Drop *nyom* the honorific *nyom*" sabi niya habang nginunguya ang donut.

Ibinalik ko naman ang aking tingin doon sa dalawa na hanggang ngayon ay magkayakap pa rin sa isat isa.

Kitang kita ko rin kung gaano kahigpit ang yakapan nila, and that man was even caressing her back. 

Wait.. Is she sobbing? 

Don't tell me na kaya idinikit ni Khiena ang mukha niya sa dibdib ng lalaking yun ay dahil umiiyak siya?! But why is she crying?!

Did he make her cry?!

No! Impossible. Kung siya nga ang nagpaiyak kay Khiena, then hindi sila magyayakapan.

Sino ba kasi yang lalaking yan?

"He's name is Joven. Khiena's friend. Actually, he's her closest  friend" Erika said.

Kinunotan ko naman siya ng noo. "Are you reading my mind?"

She let out a chuckle. Of course not! Silly. Oh, ayan na sila Khiena" sabi niya.

Pagkatapos ng ilang segundo ay nandito na nga si Khiena, kasama iyong lalaki. "Hi Joven!" nakangiting bati ni Erika.

Ngumiti naman sa kanya ito. 

"Joven, this is Zavriel Isaac Dravenz, and Zav, this is Joven Briones" pagpapakilala ni Khiena sa kasama.

"Dravenz? Are you the famous model and swimmer?" Tanong nitong Joven na to.

I nodded at nakipagkamay sa kanya.

"I heard Khiena is living with you. Take care of her" he said.

Does this guy trust me already?

"So what brings you here? Ni hindi mo lang rin ako tinawagan para isabing nandito ka" tanong ni Erika.

Pinaupo na muna namin sina Khiena at Joven. 

"Well, I was planning to surprise you but it looks like, I was the one who turned out to be surprised" he said as he glanced at Khiena who is eating donuts. 

"I'm sorry Joven. I lied to you and pretended I have no idea where Khiena is" Erika sadly said. 

"Nah It's fine. I'm sure sinabihan ka ni Khiena since she was running away" Then, this guy looked at me and smiled. "Khiena changed her appearance huh? Is it because of you?" he asked.

I shooked my head. "Nope. It was my mother who helped her change her appearance"

Nagpatuloy lang sila sa kwentuhan. Tahimik lang kami ni Khiena at minsan lang kung magsalita. Ang naguusap talaga ay sina Erika at Joven.

Basing from Erika's look, I'm guessing that this Joven is the one that she likes.

"Oh, look at the time! Mauna na ako sa inyo. Bye! Nice meeting you Zavriel. See you all soon" Joven bid his goodbye.

I sighed at inaya na rin itong dalawa kong kasama na umuwi na kami.

I brought my car with me so ihahatid ko na lang si Erika sa kanila.

Nang maihatid na namin si Erika sa kanila ay hindi na muna kami dumiretso sa condo.

"Where are we?" Khiena asked.

"We're here at the Dravenz modelling company"
