Chapter Eleven: Friday Night Diner

Saturday Morning
Y/N's Pov
I woke up the next morning and reached for my phone. It was 7:35 am. I sat up and rubbed my eyes with the heel of my hand. I got up and went to go take a shower.

After my shower I changed into some black leggings, a dark green shirt, and my Jean Jacket. I brushed my teeth and washed my face. I put on my shoes and grabbed my phone. Me, mom, and Rory started walking to Luke's. When we got there I went over the counter and saw Jess walk down.
"Jess you were supposed to be down here- What the hell is that?" Luke asked Jess.
"What?" Jess asked.
"That," Luke said pointing at his shirt.
"That is a shirt," Jess said.
"Change," Luke said firmly.
"What?" Jess asked again.
"Change your shirt," Luke said.
"I like this shirt," Jess told Luke.
"How can you like that shirt?" Luke asked.
"It brings out my eyes," Jess said as I laughed.
"Change. I'll scare the costumers," Luke said.
"I like this shirt. Y/N, do you like this shirt?" Jess asked pointing to me.
"I love that shirt," I said smirking.
"See," Jess said walking past Luke.
Jess walked over to me and leaned over the counter and kissed my cheek.
"Morning handsome," I smiled.
"Good morning beautiful," He said smiling. Actually it was more of a smirk, but it was sweeter than a smirk.
"Do you wanna go out tonight?" He asked.
"What were you thinking?" I asked.
"We could go see the new movie," He said handing me some coffee.
"Sure," I said sipping on my coffee.
He looked into my eyes.
"I have to get back to work. I'll pick you up at 7," He told me.
"Okay," I said.
He gave me a quick smirk before walking away to serve the other costumers. I grabbed my cup and went to go sit with mom and Rory.
"Hey," Rory smiled.
"Hey," I smiled back.
"Hey.. mom? Is it okay if I go out with Jess tonight?" I asked her.
"Um.. sure," Mom said, obviously fake smiling.
"Great. Thanks," I smiled.
Mom nodded and we continued to drink our coffee.
After we finished our coffee, mom went to the Dragonfly because she had to sort something out. Me and Rory were walking around the wonderful streets of Stars Hollow, our arms linked.
"So.. did you and Dean make up after he said that you liked Jess?" I asked.
"I do not like Jess. And yes we did," She told me.
"Okay," I told her.
"Hey.. I'm really sorry about telling Grandma that you were going to the concert with Jess," She said looking guilty.
"No, it's alright. She would've found out anyway," I told her smiling.
"Okay," She nodded.
"You know she's gonna wanna meet him," Rory said.
"I know.." I winned.
"It's okay. I'll be there," Rory told me.
"What about mom?" I asked.
"She's going to New York with Alex, remember?" She asked.
"Right.." I told her.
We walked home and sat on the couch and stated watching Tv.
Then the phone started to ring. I got up, hoping it was Jess.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Hello Y/N, this is your grandmother," She said.
"Hi Grandma. What's up?" I asked.
"I would like you two bring your boyfriend to dinner this Friday," She told me.
"Oh. Um.. He doesn't really do fancy diners," I told grandma.
"He can sit through on diner with his girlfriends grandmother," Grandma told me.
"Okay, okay," I told her.
I hung up and walked back over to Rory,
"Was it Grandma?" Rory asked.
I nodded. I leaned my head against her shoulder.
Thursday~~
I was out with Jess.
"I have you ask you something," I said pulling away from the heated make out session that we were having my the gazebo.
"What is it?" He asked resting his hands on my lower back and kissing my jawline.
"I need you to come with me to diner with my grandparents," I told him.
He looked up at me.
"Your serious?" He asked.
"Yes," I told him.
"I have to work," He told me.
"Can't you be flexible?" I asked.
"I can be," He told me.
"Then why can't you come?" I asked.
"Because your grandmother doesn't like me," He said.
"Okay, so, I kind of already agreed to it, so I'm kind of stuck here," I told him.
"Ahh, gee," He told me.
"Please? I'll owe you something," I told him.
"You will?" He asked.
I leaned down and dug in my bag and pulled out a new book that I had just bought. I handed it to him.
"And 5 dollars," He said smirking.
I leaned up and kissed him. I slowly pulled away.
"That's worth at least 5 dollars," I told him.
"You Gilmore's sure think a lot of yourselves," Jess aid shaking his head.
"So you'll come?" I asked.
"Yeah," He said.
"Oh thank you!" I smiled.
"Now where we're we?" He asked.
He leaned to my level and kissed me. I kissed back and wrapped my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around my waist.
Friday Night at the Gilmore's~~
Me, Rory, and Grandma were waiting for Jess. He was like 30 minutes late.
"I'm sorry he's late," I told Grandma.
"Oh it's okay. There's probably traffic. Why don't you try him on your cell?" Grandma asked.
"Oh, he doesn't have one. He doesn't believe in them," I told her.
"Well I find that refreshing," Grandma said.
Then we heard the door bell.
"There he is," Grandma said standing up.
Me and her went to the door, and Rory stayed in the living room. When grandma answered it Jess was standing there with a black eye.
"Welcome," Grandma said.
"Sorry I'm late, traffic," Jess said.
"Oh we thought that also," Grandma said.
Grandma started walking, but I grabbed Jess's arm.
"Hey. What happened to your eye?" I asked.
"Can we talk and it later?" He asked.
"Jess-" I started but he cut me off.
"Y/N, I'm hungry, and I'm thirsty, and I'm in a crappy mood. I'm at a function that I particularly didn't wanna go to. So if you don't mind just drop it," Jess told me.
"Okay. I'm sorry," I told him.
I leaned up and slowly kissed him, I pulled away arms we went to the table. We all sat down.
"So Y/N tells me you work at Walmart," Grandma said starting conversation.
"Only at an acesity," Jess said.
"Well we've never actually been inside of one, but they seem like wonderful stores," Grandma told Jess.
"Oh, yeah, I wanna be buried there," Jess said sarcastically.
I lightly pressed my foot against his giving him a pleading look. I moved my foot.
"Oh Jess. I hope you eat meat, I forgot to ask," Grandma said.
"I'm a carnivore," Jess said.
"I just don't understand how people can stand not eating meat," Grandma said shaking her head.
"It's why we have teeth," Jess said.
Then there was a loud bang coming from the kitchen.
"For god's sake," Grandma mumbled.
She walked out, and Rory followed her.
"Jess..?" I whispered.
"What?" He asked.
"What happened to your eye?" I asked.
"I thought you said you were going to drop it," Jess said leaning against the table.
"I'm just worried about you," I told him.
"I'm fine," He said.
"Tell me after diner?" I asked.
"Yeah," He said.
Then they came back in, and we all started eating.
After Diner~~
"Thanks Grandma," I smiled.
"Your welcome. Goodbye Jess," Grandma said looking at Jess.
"Whatever," Jess said.
We all walked out.
"I'll see you at home, Y/N," Rory told me.
I nodded and she left in her car. I came in Rorys car, but I'll ride back with Jess.
"Jess.." I whispered.
"What?" He asked.
"Your eye," I told him.
He slowly walked closer to me, and grabbed my hands and intertwined our fingers together.
"Fine.. since we're all about honesty.. and that's what good relationships are about, right?" He asked.
"Right," I nodded.
"But you've gotta promise not to mock me ever.. and please don't tell anyone.." He asked looking down.
"I promise," I assured him.
He looked to the side for a second then back into my eyes. He licked his lips.
"I was walking down by the bridge.. and a sawn came out of no where and beaked me in the eye," He said looking embarrassed.
"Oh you poor thing," I said rubbing my thumb down his cheek.
"Yeahh," He shrugged.
"Thank you for telling me.." I whispered.
"Your welcome," He told me.
He leaned down and kissed me, I kissed back and we pulled away.
"You wanna go home?" He asked.
"Yeah," I said.
We got into his car and he started to drive back to Stars Hollow.
"Thank you Jess.. I really appreciate it.." I said looking up at him.
He nodded. I leaned over and rested my head against his shoulder while he drove.
When we back to my home I leaned over and kissed his cheek before walking inside.
