Chapter Thirty- Four: The Ultrasound

(Y/N is 12 weeks/ 3 months pregnant)

Y/N's Pov
I walked into the bedroom where Jess was laying. I sat on the bed next to him, and he looked at me. He put down his book.
"Hey. Can we talk?" I asked.
"Yeah." He sat up.
"I have been thinking.." I started.
"Yeah .. ?" He asked.
"I wanna just stay engaged for a while." I said.
"Are you having second thoughts?" He asked.
"Oh no!" I shook my head.
"I just wanna wait until the baby is born." I told him.
"Okay." He nodded.
"Thank you." I smiled.
"Of course." He smirked.
I leaned my head against his shoulder. I grabbed his hand.
".. I also talked with our doctor. We could set up for the first ultrasound." I said.
"Okay. When?" Jess asked.
"Next Thursday." I nodded.
"Okay, great." He said.
"Hey. I'm gonna go take a shower." I said kissing his lower arm.
"Okay." He nodded.
I stood up, and walked over to the bathroom.

Me and Jess were getting ready for the ultrasound. I was brushing my hair in the bathroom, and we were ready.
We left, and Jess drove us to the hospital. When we got there, we went to the front desk.
"Hello. How can I help you two today?" She asked.
"Hi." I smiled. "We're here for the ultrasound."
"Names?" She asked.
"Y/N Gilmore, Jess Mariano." I said.
"Alright, your doctor is waiting for you in room 102." She said.
"Thank you." I said.
"No problem." She smiled.
We walked to the room, and the doctor was sitting on a chair.
"Hello!" She smiled. "My name is Dr. Nichole."
"Hi." I smiled.
"You can take a seat. And pull up your shirt." She said, and I nodded.
I laid down, and pulled up my shirt.
"It's gonna be a little cold." She said as she put the gel on my stomach.
"Oh, it is cold." I laughed.
She started looking at the screen where the baby was.
"Alright.. baby's looking good and healthy." She smiled.
"Great." I smiled back.
"Would you like to know the sex of the baby?" She asked.
"Not yet." I said.
"Okay." She said.
She took off the gel and we left to go back home. We got into the car, and Jess started driving.
"This is so exciting." I smiled, and looked over at Jess.
He didn't look happy, and I noticed that his grip was hard on the steering wheel.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Nothing." He shrugged.
"Something is." I whispered, trying not to push him to talk.
"You have to have more communication." He said, glancing at me.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"You can't just do things without talking to me about it." He said.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I laughed.
He stopped the car at our apartment and I unbuckled my seat belt. He didn't move.
"You're mad." I said.
"Nope." He said.
"What'd I do?" I asked.
"Just talk to me before you do things alright?" He said.
Then it came to me.
"You're mad because I don't wanna know the sex of the baby yet?" I asked.
"You could at least talk to me about it first." He said.
"You're being at jerk." I said.
He turned to me.
"I'm doin the best that I can. And if I'm being a jerk then that's what I am." He said.
I pressed my lips together, and looked down.
"I'm sorry." I said.
"You don't need to be sorry." He shook his head.
"Well you're clearly mad at me." I said.
"Just go inside Y/N." He said.
"Aren't you coming?" I asked.
"I will later." He said.
"Can we just not fight." I said.
"I'm not trying to fight with you." He said.
"Then come inside." I told him.
"Please.." I whispered.
I got out of the car, and so did he. I grabbed his hand, and he walked closer to me. He kissed my lips, cupping the side of my face with his hand that wasn't holding my hand. We pulled away.
"I love you." I whispered.
"I love you more." He whispered, kissing ny forehead, and wrapping his arms around me.
I rested my head against his chest, resting my hands at his sides.
"You wanna go inside?" He asked.
"Yeah." I nodded.
We went inside the apartment, and I handed Jess the picture of the baby. He smiled, and I smiled and leaned my head against his arm.
"You're going to be a great dad." I told him.
"I hope so." He mumbled.
"You will be." I smiled.
