Lonnie stretched, yawing, trying to shake off the sleep. She glanced around the room, and noted that both Kyle and Imp were gone. Rogelio was still snoring in the other half of the room. For someone who never really talked, he sure was a loud sleeper.
Two thoughts entered her mind. If Imp was gone, that meant he was probably with Kyle. And, if Imp was with Kyle, then.... that probably meant Imp wasn't with Kyle. Oh brother.
She hated that she had to put up with the little... whatever it was. Why, when they were finally rid of Hordack, did they have to carry around that thing with them? Clearly, Kyle and Rogelio were wrong about it. It was downright nasty, and it had no sense of loyalty whatsoever. In fact, it would probably fly off and leave them—
Lonnie squinted, then ducked as a little blue baby-like creature came pelting through the window. Good thing it wasn't glass. "Imp!" Lonnie straightened and glowered down at Imp. She spotted a bag of what appeared to be gambling tokens clutched in its fist. "Where did you get those?" Lonnie demanded.
In response, Imp stuck its tongue out at her. "Why you—" Lonnie starched at the bag, but missed as Imp zoomed up in the air. Lonnie growled in frustration, and lunged again. This time she lost balance and fell over Rogelio, waking him up. Rogelio growled at her and threw her onto the floor, none to gently. He hated being woken up.
"Sorry Rogelio" Lonnie said. "I didn't mean to wake you up."
He didn't look consoled, but rather continued to stare grumpily in her direction.
"I know, it was an awkward situation." Lonnie scratched her head where she had hit it when she had fallen. "But Imp's being a real pain in the—" she cringed, cutting off as a loud shriek reverberated around the room.
Rogelio roared back in a scolding way, and Imp responded by shrinking louder and zooming out the door. Rogelio looked hurt.
"Come on," Lonnie said, getting up to follow him. "Let's catch him before he does any more damage."
